Let me start with [player_tooltip player_id='516307' first='Jasmine' last='Gipson'] (Duncanville) who is just one of those players I have watched take her game to another level each season. I knew she was going to be a #D1Lock, some are just easy, at least for me because one more time, I am a REAL EVALUATOR. Gipson was so impressive, she made my Sandra Meadows Opening Day Top Performers Tip Sheet. With [player_tooltip player_id='307751' first='Kenidi' last='Glover'] out for the season after "setting it off" as a freshman, the Pantherettes will still be in great shape, and here's why

[player_tooltip player_id='307748' first='Kaylinn' last='Kemp'] continues to have me SMH at things she does instinctively as she, [player_tooltip player_id='825274' first='Kierston' last='Russell'], as well as [player_tooltip player_id='798666' first='Trystan' last='James'], made Loaded Duncanville wins Sandra Meadows Classic article, and although I missed [player_tooltip player_id='825279' first='Laila' last='Coleman'], she too will be in the mix from this class. Going over my Texas notes, there were plenty of sophomores who did some damage

[player_tooltip player_id='307758' first='Rezia' last='Castillo']-5'6 PG (Clear Brook)

Castillo is one of the youngest players I've called #D1Lock and when I go out on a limb saying that about a 2nd grader, I don't plan on that limb breaking. What I did I plan on was her "breaking down defenders" and she does just that, with a variety of moves while going full speed. She stays under control, she has good court vision yet she can accelerate in the blink of an eye. Her midrange has definitely added more to her impressive game

[player_tooltip player_id='594026' first='Saylor' last='Bourland']-5'7 SG (Vista Ridge)

Bourland showed me she could score a variety of ways a while back yet her range has gotten deeper and she's creating her shot better under pressure in the set. The jumper, in transition, was equally impressive as well as her "on the ball" defense but what really had me going was watching her play the passing lane

[player_tooltip player_id='516306' first='Kianna' last='Wormly']-5'9 SG/SF (Vista Ridge)

Wormly warms up quickly and when you can outrebound players over "the magic number" which is 6'0 in case you missed it, that gets the #THROWBACK hashtag. She's long and athletic, which will always be the base, yet her midrange as well as scoring off the dribble was on full display. I use the "you have to have a KEY to unlock the door" and this squad will create some issues with their youth

[player_tooltip player_id='361356' first='Abby' last='Seitz']-5'8 CG (Vista Ridge)

Seitz amazes me in so many ways, her blue-collar work ethic is something you can't teach, okay, #THROWBACK again, and her DESIRE to battle for loose balls as well as rebounds isn't in the classroom either. She is a "hard-nosed" defender and I remember her coming back to drop a game-winning 3 after a hard hit to the nose earlier in the season, pun intended, yet her mid to long-range game has always impressed because she knocks it down with a hand in her face. She also scored both off the dribble as well as on putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends

Camille Williams-5'11 SG (Saginaw)

Williams is "long and athletic" yep, it's still the base but check out the intangibles. She understands how to set the defender up and score off the dribble with a deceptive first step, with either hand, and she uses good body control to complete the play. Her pull-up jumper is effective and guess what, college coaches love big guards that can shoot it and she does just that, mid to long-range. Solid defender as well as a rebounder, she also plays the passing lane

[player_tooltip player_id='307757' first='Alaysia' last='Gude']-5'8 CG (La Vega)

Gude had me joking to college coaches "Lay Lay makes defenders PAY PAY" because she's tough to defend and here's why. She can drop it from NBA range, so you can't give her too much room, yet her explosiveness off the dribble combined with off-balance finishes after contact gives her options and keeps the defender on their toes

Angela Carroll-6'2 PF/C (La Vega)

Carroll steadily is adding more to her game to go with her next-level ready frame. She's becoming more aggressive in the interior, on both ends, and her rebounding and getting the break going was a very good sign, as well as her running the floor. She also used some nice moves to finish around the basket, "hands and footwork" continue to get better, and she blocked some shots
