As I wrap up sharing my notes, as written in my rocket book, on recently watched players enjoy this look at post players. Point and shooting guards were highlighted in part one. Combo guards and small forwards made up part 2. As with the other articles the players are listed by class.
2023
Allison Bateman, 5’9″, PF, Central Christian – Solid build, quick block turn and shoot. Good length. Works hard.
Sidney Swingle, 5’10”, PF, Attica – Hit players w/quick, soft passes. Moves into space. Shoots the three with arch. Not very confident handling ball in transition. Some handles. Helps against backcourt pressure.
2024
Savannah Shahan Savannah Shahan 5'11" | PF Hillsboro | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, PF/SF, Hillsboro – Works the short corner well. Can get to the hole off the bounce and uses her height advantage to dish to teammate on the block. Solid perimeter shooter and three point threat. Good size, length, and speed. Unselfish.
2025
Sienna DeFrain, 5’9″, PF, Haven – Why not ranked is a mystery. Anyway. Lefty who can go right and finish with either hand but prefers the left when not being especially conscious of what she wants to accomplish (score). Strong around the hoop. Good free throw shooter. Led the team in scoring with 17. Solid speed and athleticism.
Kaylee Swartz, 5’10”, PF/C, Chaparral – Competes well, good hands and nice touch around the basket. Thin, does not jump well. Long arms. Walls up and stands her ground well so always a threat to draw a charge. Solid transition speed. Has got to get stronger and develop a perimeter game – including handles to create. Needs to improve open court handles. Some potential to be a very good.
