The point guard position has no shortage of talent. Led by #2 ranked Keirra Thompson Keirra Thompson 5'6" | PG Camas | 2025 State WA , this class has some of the best point guards in the state. Here are a few of those that stand out.
The first thing you notice is that she has phenomenal floor vision. She has made some of the best passes that I have seen this season. She can thread the needle with no seam dimes and does so time after time. In my opinion she is the most natural and skilled point guard in the Class of 2025. She is garnering attention from some big time schools on the national level. She has great ball handling skills and once she gets it she is off to the races, finding any of a number of skilled scorers on the other end for buckets. She can also blow by the defense and finish on her own, but is more likely to drop some dimes that are worthy of Top 10 highlights level.
She is another one that looks the part of a true point guard. She keeps the ball low and under control at all times. She is a problem when she gets going downhill and is tough to contain. She mixes in threes which she can hit in bunches making her even tougher to stop. It is that combination that makes her one of the better scoring point guards in the 2025 class.
Highlights
She is at the top of the list for scoring point guards. She has an elite level skill-set that has caught the attention of some big time college programs. She is extremely quick and can get herself free to hit mid-range jumpers or score at the rim. She does this as well as any and it shows up in the box scores. She scores at a high level night in and night out. One of the best ball handling guards in the class of 2025 if not the best.
Bellarmine Prep has one of the most talented young backcourts in the state. They are all interchangeable and she shows her ability to play either guard spot with some nice scoring nights. She is great at hitting floaters in the lane or finishing at the rim. She has great quickness and speed to get up the floor and by the defense. You could say she is a score first point-guard but that takes away from her true point guard skills. She is well rounded and highly skilled.
She plays at the 2B level but that doesn’t take away from the fact that she has all the skills to be a great player at any level which she showed last year playing at Yelm. She transferred to Rainier this season and has become one of the best point guards in 2B. She has a skill-set that really stands out as both a scorer and facilitator. She scores at a high level on most nights but the rest of the game is usually on full display.
She runs the show for the top 2A team and defending champ Ellensburg. She plays tough defense on the top level of a defense that pressures non stop. She leads the charge and if you happen to get by her you are met by a couple of 6’4 shot blocking posts – 6’6 Olivia Anderson Olivia Anderson 6’6″ | PF Ellensburg | 2023 State #37 Nation WA and 6’4 Alana Marrs Alana Marrs 6’4″ | C Ellensburg | 2025 State WA . She is also a steady playmaking guard who takes care of the ball and scores when she needs to. Her mid-range game is solid and she finds those posts inside for easy baskets.
