As we progress towards the last stretch of the season, we inevitably take a look at the top teams in the 6A Classification. The South Medford Panthers are a tough, energized, and systematic group that are clearly in mid-season form heading into the playoffs. The Jesuit Crusaders look to continue their momentum and erase what was a disappointing 2022 playoff picture. The Clackamas Cavaliers have been the talk of the town and look to cap off what was and is continuing to be a riveting season.

South Medford Panthers

The Panthers are truly in mid-season form, looking forward to a run to not only the Chiles Center but to add to their trophy hardware. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='158543' first='Donovyn' last='Hunter'], Oregon State signee, the Panthers are aggressive defensively and use the same approach on the other end of the floor. Sara and Tatum Schmerbach are two sisters who play with synergy and [player_tooltip player_id='251703' first='Kendall' last='Fealey'] is another weapon offensively. Kim Ceron is an athletic hybrid forward with a big game. The Panthers also have young talent like freshman [player_tooltip player_id='832611' first='Taylor' last='Young'], an elusive point guard. The Beaverton Beavers are the champions of last season and look to back that title with their defense, synergy, and attitude.

Jesuit Crusaders

Headlined by McDonald's All-American [player_tooltip player_id='158538' first='Sofia' last='Bell'], the Crusaders look to continue to build off her highly momentous season. They haven't lost to an In-State team and played number one in the country Sierra Canyon competitively back in December. The Crusaders have talent at every position, as seen with guards [player_tooltip player_id='158544' first='Emma' last='Sixta'] and [player_tooltip player_id='211119' first='Avery' last='Edwards'] - two guards who provide plenty of offense. [player_tooltip player_id='255257' first='Kendra' last='Hicks'] is an anchor on both ends at the forward position. Tessa Randall is another gritty two-way player. The Crusaders are scary when on full throttle.

Clackamas Cavaliers

The Clackamas Cavs began the season on several top 25 lists and recently they have shown why. The Cavs have yet to lose a game to an In-State team as of yet and look to continue to do so to clinch a State Championship. On paper, they certainly have the looks of such a team. Household name [player_tooltip player_id='833357' first='Jazzy' last='Davidson'] anchors the Cavs as a generational talent with grace and wit. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='158545' first='Rhyan' last='Mogel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='158558' first='Eliza' last='Buerk'] began the spark in the program as sophomores and look to lead. The talent continues with multi-tasking [player_tooltip player_id='502350' first='Dylan' last='Mogel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='833601' first='Allie' last='Roden']. [player_tooltip player_id='833579' first='Avery' last='Peterson'] is the blistering guard whereas [player_tooltip player_id='833518' first='Sara' last='Barhoum'] the sniper that comes alive. The Cavaliers are a serious contender and look to continue the conversation.

Beaverton Beavers

The reigning 6A State Champions have been battle tested early and often, as they played some nationally competition in December, including a game with top ten in the nation La Jolla Country Day (CA). The Beavers have their big senior trio in [player_tooltip player_id='158547' first='Madison' last='Naro'], [player_tooltip player_id='158567' first='Lainey' last='Spear'], and [player_tooltip player_id='158564' first='Zoe' last='Borter'] - three centrifugal pieces for their team who play a multitude of roles for their club. [player_tooltip player_id='503178' first='Faith' last='Meyer'] is an intriguing piece who brings toughness and size and [player_tooltip player_id='834120' first='Indie' last='Browning'] is a skilled guard who has come into the starting five. Another difference maker is Jaydin Lutu, who showed huge strides last season down the season.
