Massaponax guard Takeria Ramey is an all-around fantastic basketball player. Many aspects of her game could be celebrated, but her passing ability impresses me the most. Ramey is at her best, going downhill, finding cutters, and kicking out to open shooters. She is an outstanding athlete and uses both that and her IQ to make her an elite passer. She averages 5.4 assists a game and has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.6.
Sadie Shores Sadie Shores 5’10” | CG Woodgrove HS | 2024 State VA is a fantastic basketball player, and it shows in her facilitating a lot. The importance of a simple swing pass gets lost sometimes. Many young guards tend to over-dribble and miss out on an open shot because they don’t want to make the hockey assist. Sadie Shores Sadie Shores 5’10” | CG Woodgrove HS | 2024 State VA does a great job with making these types of passes. She makes the right pass every time, and although simple, it’s very effective in getting open looks for players.

Hopewell loves to play fast, and Alexis Edmonds Alexis Edmonds 5’8″ | CG Hopewell | 2023 State VA is a big reason why. There are a lot of factors in determining what makes a good passer. Things like vision, IQ, and accuracy mean all the world when evaluating someones passing ability. If you combine all the things, you get an efficient passer, and Matoaca guard Kiana Brown is the perfect example of that, and her numbers show that. She is averaging 5.5 assists and an outstanding 2.75 assist-to-turnover ratio. She’s a true PG and is an impressive facilitator.
Samantha Smith

Saint Gertrude has a great offense, and part of that is because of Senior Guard Sam Smith’s passing ability. Saint Gertrude takes and makes a lot of threes, and Sam smiths ability to find shooters is a big reason why that is so impressive. Smith averages 4.8 assists a game with a 1.64 assist-to-turnover ratio.
I needed to shout out Ava Johnson Ava Johnson 6’2″ | PF Steward School | 2025 State VA as a passer because, as a Center, she is a fantastic facilitator. Being a Center, she doesn’t have the extraordinary numbers some of the other girls here do, but they are still impressive. She averages 3.8 assists and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.61. She leads her team in assists as a Sophmore center, and her ability to pass out the paint and find open shooters is a crucial cog in the Glen Allen machine.
