A good rebounder and shot blocker that can step out and hit the mid range and three point shot. She will be headed to upstate New York to Le Moyne in the NEC conference!

Ava Johnson Ava Johnson 6'2" | PF/C The Steward School | 2025 State VA is a confident and reliable shooter with great size. She has a fantastic shooting motion and gets it up over charging defenders with her length. Ava shot the ball well last year for Steward, and a little more volume behind the arc could serve her well. She does well popping off of picks to get catch-and-shoot opportunities for herself. She is a good free throw shooter and has nice touch. Ava can be a nice stretch five or stay as more of a four. Either way, she is effective. She shot 35% from three for Steward last year.

Ava Johnson Ava Johnson 6'2" | PF/C The Steward School | 2025 State VA had a fantastic game against St. Frances. Her ability to stretch the floor at her size is probably her biggest asset, and she showed that in this game. Ava also did good work inside, finishing with 17 points and 6 rebounds.

Ava Johnson Ava Johnson 6'2" | PF/C The Steward School | 2025 State VA is one of the more highly touted players on this Elevate Elite Richmond team for good reason. She had a solid first year for Steward and now takes her talents to play for this talented Elevate Elite squad. She is outstanding on both ends of the floor. Ava is a good finisher and rebounds the ball well. She contests every shot, and nothing comes easy for the opposing team when she is in the paint.

Ava is off to a great start at her new school. She has always been a force in the paint on the defensive end, but this year she is showing her ability to be a force on offense. She had a great game against Paul VI. Scored most of her points in the paint, actively hunting rebounds and finishing around the basket. She clogged the middle defensively, altering shots and limiting PVI’s second chance opportunities.

Ava provides Team Loaded with much needed inside presence. She is consistent scorer who has a soft touch around the rim. Ava rebounds the ball well and is a good shot blocker! High level shooter that can knock down the ball from 15 feet and from the three point line. She is still tapping into her full potential and her addition to this program will no doubt help the 17U team in July!

I needed to shout out Ava Johnson Ava Johnson 6'2" | PF/C The Steward School | 2025 State VA as a passer because, as a Center, she is a fantastic facilitator. Being a Center, she doesn’t have the extraordinary numbers some of the other girls here do, but they are still impressive. She averages 3.8 assists and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.61. She leads her team in assists as a Sophmore center, and her ability to pass out the paint and find open shooters is a crucial cog in the Glen Allen machine.
