Each team is packed with talent and players that can play at the next level. I’ve seen each of these teams play this season and here’s a look at some of the top players to watch as the semifinals get underway.
1. Marianne Boco – Granada Hills 2024
Boco is a solid point guard who does well controlling the pace of the game. She has solid handles and keeps her dribble under control against defensive pressure. Her strength offensively lies in her ability to get downhill and attack the basket. Good body control, able to finish through contact. She’s a good shooter off the dribble and comfortable creating separation on her shot. Navigates screens well and takes advantage of switches. Active defender with quick hands to force turnovers.
2.

A Cal State LA commit, Jackson is one of the top wing scorers in City Section. She can handle the ball and has a nice crossover. Able to shoot consistently off the dribble with a smooth shot. Attacks with a strong burst, able to turn the corner quickly and get to the basket. Good step through moves in the lane. She’s comfortable being a primary shot creator. Good size, able to mix it up in the middle and hit the glass.

– King/Drew 2025
Wallace is quick with the ball in her hands and comfortable making plays off the dribble. One of the key cogs for the Golden Eagles. She’s a smaller guard but plays bigger than her size. Can consistently get to the basket and can finish with a floater in the lane. Solid in transition and able to use jump-stops to get defenders to fly past her. In terms of being a point guard, she can share the backcourt with another ball-handler and she can be the primary playmaker, keeping the ball the moving and finding open teammates in the halfcourt.
4. Dalayja Floyd-Hurt – Crenshaw 2023
Floyd-Hurt is a solid wing player who is an efficient scorer around the basket. She’s a slasher with good handles who is able to consistently attack defenders off the dribble. Good finisher at the basket using her length to extend over the defense. She’s got a quick first step and keeps the defense on their heels. Able to shoot from the perimeter as well. Very mobile and active defensively using her length to disrupt passes and force turnovers.
