This was a hard fought, physical game with both teams going on runs throughout the game. St. Timothy’s used pressure defense throughout the game and crashed the boards hard to stay within striking distance, but St. Mary’s just proved to be the better shooting team, which was the difference. Here are some of the standout players from this contest.
Bailey was outstanding this season and she continued that in this game. She finished with a team high 24 points and constantly got to the line to help her team get into the bonus. She competed hard and matched St. Timothy’s physical play, handling whatever defense they threw at her.
Baily Walden
Baily Walden
This was a typical outing for Baily in the biggest game of the season. She finished with 14 points and ran the team’s offense effectively. She was under constant pressure and won her share of the battles, doing whatever it took to help her team come out on top.
Alexandra was huge in this one. She chipped in 14 points, including two 3-pointers, and provided tough interior defense and rebounding. She got better as the season went on and saved her best for the most important game of the year.
Highlights
Another freshman that turned in a big performance in the biggest game of the season. Karmen played ferocious defense and showed off a non-stop motor. She scored 17 points, including three 3 pointers.
Mariah has a lot of potential. She brought a level of toughness to St. Timothy’s, providing rim protection, rebounding and a strong motor. Her offense is still emerging, but she has good footwork and nice touch in the paint. Looking forward to watching her develop. She finished with 7 points and 9 rebounds.
Aryss capped off an outstanding senior season with an outstanding performance. She led all players with 28 points and never stopped coming at St. Mary’s. She was disruptive on defense all game long and kept St. Timothy’s in the game until the end. She is arguably the best athlete in the area, and she used that to her advantage to blow by defenders or simply jump over them.
