Consistent beyond the arc, she has the ability to take over a game when needed. Her size and skill set stand out, as she can defend any position on the court while also effectively running the offense.

had arguably the best performance of the day. She showed her full arsenal of skills for a short-handed St. Mary’s Annapolis team. She knocked down a handful of spot-up trees, and she made a living getting to her spots in the mid-range. Alexandra did work out the post and drove from the perimeter to hit jumpers over outstretched defenders. She did a great job on the offensive glass as well. The rising senior finished with 42 points in a win, then followed that up with 27 in a loss.

Alexandra has everything that you would want from a wing. She has size at 6’1″, she can stretch the floor with her shot and she can defend the position. She is also pretty good in the paint. The Germantown Lady Panthers will give her the opportunity to showcase her talent on a national stage against elite level talent.

The other half of this incredible St. Mary’s-Annanoplis tandem is Alexandra Vandiver. She was fantastic defensively and shot the ball well again. Alexandra is a great shooter and is always active all over the court. She finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Alexandra and Bailey Harris combined for 55 of the team’s 59 points. Alexandra is what you want out of a wing, with great size and great two-way ability.

Last year at DMVlive, Alexandra Vandiver struggled with her shot, but my takeaway from her performances was positive. I liked what she brought defensively, her size, and her ability to stretch the floor. She put all those tools together against Holy Cross, knocking down two threes and finishing with 17 points. She was fantastic defensively as well.

Arguably at the top of the list in the area for most improved, Alexandra has really gotten off to a hot start for the season. She has become a real sniper from behind the three-point line, equally dangerous in catch and shoot or spot up situations. More impressively, she has become a mid-range killer. She is really knocking down short corner jumpers and face up shots in the mid-post area. Defensively she is anchoring St. Mary’s various zones and showing versatility on that end of the court. She’s also a solid rebounder. Mid major D1’s are noticing.

Alexandra is set up for a great season. A versatile wing with excellent size, she has put in the off season work and got some good competition in the summer. She will also benefit from the move up to the A conference and tougher schedule.
