5A State Tournament Blossoming Players

Ava Berguson had a tremendous freshman season for the La Salle Falcons. [player_tooltip player_id='158541' first='Ella' last='Wedin'] capped off an illustrious four year career with La Salle. Nicole Huang provided big moments for Crescent Valley, last year's champs. [player_tooltip player_id='311585' first='J'Bionna' last='Robinson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='255261' first='Danaeja' last='Romero Ah-Sam'] make quite the backcourt for your 2023 OSAA 5A State Champions in the Springfield Millers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ava Berguson 2026 6'0" PF La Salle HS - the imposing power forward has arrived. Berguson had a huge statement in the Semi-Final versus Crescent Valley where she posted a 16 point, 10 rebound, 2 block, 2 steal effort. Tremendous feel for the game inside matched by her size and competitiveness.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='158541' first='Ella' last='Wedin'] 2023 6'1" SG La Salle HS - Wedin helped lead her team where it all started for her - Gill Coliseum. As a middle schooler, she watched her two older sisters win it all for La Salle and led her own team to the promised land. Had an 11 point effort versus Crescent Valley in the Semis. Big time shooter leaded to LMU in Southern California. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nicole Huang 2023 5'9" SF Crescent Valley HS - Huang is a competitor and scrappy forward who contributes in a multitude of ways. For one, she is a rebounder due in part of her diligence and persistence. She is also a solid shooter and defender due to these same characteristics. Clocked a 13 point, 10 rebound effort in the Semi-Final</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='311585' first='J'Bionna' last='Robinson'] 2025 5'7" PG Springfield HS - a name you should be familiar with - Robinson is an illustrious point guard who commands the game with her tremendous pace and flow. She had a huge 25 point outburst versus Crater in a tough game where rhythm was untangled. Robinson is a three-level dynamic shooter that is an absolute difference maker. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='255261' first='Danaeja' last='Romero Ah-Sam'] 2024 5'9" PG Springfield HS - the MVP of the 5A State Final was undoubtably Romero Ah-Sam, as she was the elusive and skilled point guard we all know her to be.
