This game was highly anticipated, as many believed from the beginning of the season we would see these two teams going head to head in the state title game. Conway had beaten North Little Rock twice during the regular season, but North Little Rock was looking to get the one victory that mattered.
Conway went on to a 62-53 victory, but let’s look at some of the Conway players that made an impact for their team.
Chloe is Arkansas’ back-to-back Gatorade Player of the Year and she was determined to leave Conway with a state championship. The Stanford signee finished the game with 20pts and 4 ast. Chloe had her typical game. She scored in a variety of ways. She attacked off the dribble, got out in transition, made the three-ball, and finished in traffic.
Savannah Scott Savannah Scott 6’4″ | C Conway | 2023 State AR was another senior for Conway that was looking to leave with a state championship. The Auburn signee dominated early and finished with a double-double by scoring 14 points and securing 12 rebounds. Her offensive rebounding was key in the first half as Conway struggled to get going.
Alexis went from a role player at the start of the season to the third scoring option for Conway. Her 14pts and 8 rebounds were key for Conway coming away with the title. The versatile wing player played different positions for Conway throughout the year and that was a major key the team’s title run.
Some players have a role that goes unnoticed. Some players on the team get the notoriety when they score points, but Kaidyn’s role was much quieter but just as impactful. The senior point guard had the task of running the team, managing the game, and causing havoc with her defense. Her influence on the game goes well beyond the box score.
The spark off the bench that Conway needs. Her role was to come in the game apply good on-ball defense, force turnovers, get out on the break, and stretch the defense with her three-point shooting. The way Conway plays it suits her skill level and athleticism. She’ll have even more of an impact next year.
It took Samyah some time, but she was able to get comfortable with her role and really excel. The sophomore PG played with good poise in some of the biggest moments Conway had this year. This will be her team to lead next year as she will be handed the keys from senior point guard Kaidyn Beckwith.
One of four seniors on this Conway squad, Kamille often sacrificed points and shot attempts for the good of the team. Her unselfishness and willingness to often defend the opposing team’s best perimeter player was a major factor in Conway securing a state championship.
Conway’s three juniors ( Alexis Cox Alexis Cox 5'8" | SF Conway | 2025 State AR , Emerie Bohanon Emerie Bohanon 5'7" | CG Conway | 2025 State AR , & Samyah Jordan Samyah Jordan 5'6" | PG Conway | 2025 State AR ) will be asked to lead this team next year. The three juniors will be the most experienced and looked upon to carry a heavy load to get Conway back to another state championship game.
