Louis Volker Louis Volker 6’0″ | SF Paul VI | 2023 State VA was outstanding all year and one of the best players in NOVA. She is a good passer, can shoot the ball from 3, and has a great mid-range game. I watched a lot of her this season, and the maturity in her game always impressed me. She capped off her senior season with A VHSL state championship. She was named to the WCAC first team.
Jessica Dornak Jessica Dornak 6’1″ | PF South Lakes | 2023 State VA has a very polished game. She has excellent touch, which you often see when she works out of the post and shoots FTs. Her post hook always looks good, and the bounces she gets aren’t luck; they go in because her touch is just that good. Dornak can also step out and knockdown 3s. South Lakes was solid this year, and Dornak was their leading scorer.
Highlights
Freshman standout Demi Gilliam Demi Gilliam 6’1″ | SF Paul VI | 2026 State VA was terrific this year on both ends. She is a long and mobile defender capable of guarding multiple positions. On offense, Demi has a good mid-range game and is a fantastic offensive rebounder. She was first-team all-region and a name to watch this AAU season. Demi averaged 12.3 PPG, 10.6, and 2.4 SPG.
A lot of Flint Hills offense this year came from two people, one of whom was senior forward Lyndsey Costigan Lyndsey Costigan 5’11” | SF Flint Hill | 2023 State VA . Lyndsey is an underrated passer and a good shooter for a big. She was great for Flint Hill in the playoffs with a couple of big performances.

Hope Drake Hope Drake 5’11” | SF Briar Woods | 2024 State VA is a good example of what many coaches want in a forward in today’s game. She is about 6 feet and a solid rebounder, but her shooting ability makes her great. She is a terrific spot-up shooter and can get hot in a hurry. Hope was first-team all-region and averaged 17.7 PPG and 7.2 RPG.

Ranked the best junior in Virginia, Laura Williams Laura Williams 6’2″ | PF Paul VI | 2024 State VA did not disappoint. Laura is an absolute force on defense, and she put in a masterclass defensively against St. Anne’s Belfield in the state final. Her touch improved this year, and she is starting to look super comfortable operating out the post. Towards the back half of the season, Laura was one of the best players in Virginia and was stacking on double-doubles. Laura was named first team all WCAC and will be recruited hard this summer and next year.
Skylar Giuliani
Skylar Giuliani
Skylar Giuliani had a terrific year, especially for a sophomore. She averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.2 RPG. I like Skylar’s mid-range game and rebounding, and she has the potential to average a double-double at some point in her bright future.
Georiga Simonsen has not gotten the credit she deserves for how good she’s been this year. She just won player of the year in patriot district and led her team to a 26-3 record. Georgia is great out of the post and a very efficient scorer. She is super smart on both ends and is a terrific athlete. Her ability to move will help her guard multiple positions, and she is a name to watch over the next few years.
Another Robinson Ram was tremendous this year. Much like her teammate Caroline is fantastic out the post. She is an outstanding rebounder and very physical. She moves without the ball well and can put the ball on the floor to get to the rim. Caroline can shoot the three-ball, and like most of this Robinson team, she is a good defender.
Autumn Fairfax Autumn Fairfax 6’3″ | C Culpeper County HS | 2023 State VA had a monster scoring year this year. She averaged 23.3 PPG on a ridiculously efficient 73% from the field. Autumn is a beast in the paint and was virtually unstoppable this year. Autumn got to the line a lot and shot around 53%. She could have easily been a top 2 scorer in the state if she had gotten that up to 60-65%. She finished 5th in the state in scoring and had an amazing year.
