With the senior class moving on, the next classes step even more so into the spotlight. Here in this article I’ll discuss some players from the class of 2025 that are definitely worth keeping an eye on as they head into their spring seasons.
Libby Geisler Libby Geisler 5’7″ | SG Mountain Brook | 2025 State AL is a excellent shooter. Geisler is a talented scorer who plays the game the right way. Geisler has a high basketball IQ, and if ran off the 3 point line she isn’t hesitant to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim where she is a very capable finisher.
Highlights
Kaylee Yarbrough Kaylee Yarbrough 5’7″ | SF New Hope | 2025 State AL is a effortless 3 level scorer. Yarbrough plays efficiently yet aggressively and has very deep range. Her range opens up the entire floor for her as she also has elite burst when attacking the rim. once Yarbrough gets going offensively it can be extremely challenging to slow her down.
Ally Blankinchip Ally Blankinchip 5’3″ | CG Prattville Christian | 2025 State AL is a high energy guard who is capable of giving opposing backcourts nightmares. Blankinchip defends, hustles, and scraps seemingly at all times when she is out on the floor. Pairing this with Blankinchip’s ability to hit shots from the perimeter makes her a solidified 2way guard who plays with a high motor.
Maddie Smith Maddie Smith 5’8″ | PG Trinity Montgomery | 2025 State AL is a confident shooter with a really nice shot that she can get off from anywhere. Smith is not gun shy and will make defenders pay if they don’t get out. She is a really good playmaker largely due to her ability to get by defenders who are rightfully concerned about her shot. Smith has good size for the position, and will be someone to keep an eye on as we head into the spring/summer season.
Leah Childress Leah Childress 5’6″ | SG Lauderdale County | 2025 State AL is a flat out floor general. She’s an elite ball handler who can really break down pressure. Childress is excellent at setting up her teammates as well as putting them in positions to score. When need be, Childress has no problem going and getting a bucket on her own. Childress is one of those players who makes everyone around her better just by being out on the floor.
