The Sun Sentinel recently came out with their post season all county awards, naming Palm Beach Central Senior E’Zaria Adams E’Zaria Adams 5'8" | SF Palm Beach Central | 2023 State FL Palm Beach County 6A-7A Player of the Year.
As much tradition and success that the Palm Beach Central program has had over the years, E’Zaria Adams E’Zaria Adams 5'8" | SF Palm Beach Central | 2023 State FL became the first player in program history to score 1,000 career points on the way to averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 3.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks this season helping her team to a 7A Regional Final appearance and a 17-9 record.
The Broncos’ senior guard/forward was a four-year varsity player for Palm Beach Central growing her game, her role, and her production over her career. A unique player, Adams was typically bigger, stronger and more athletic than her competition and played with a competitive spirit, an intensity and defensive tenacity that was a joy to watch. Never afraid of an opposing player or team, Adams seemed to show up consistently night in and night out. The brighter the lights, the bigger the crowd, and the tougher the competition, the better Adams seemed to play.
Built more like a forward than a guard, Adams used her body to attack off the bounce absorbing contact to blow by defenders and get into the paint to score at the rim. All throughout the season she scored from the outside displaying her range, off the dribble at the rim, as well as showcasing a mid-range game as well.
Her Head Coach Bruce Gaffney had this to say reflecting back on Adams four-year career:
“The thing that I got to see as a coach was her willingness to lead first by example and then vocally holding herself and her teammates accountable while encouraging them and making them better. She has a very strong work ethic and she brought leadership, along with high academic achievement and a very high basketball skill set. She was definitely the best player in the county this year. Man, I’m going to miss her.”
