The first hour, consisted of players going through multiple drills that tested different skills with their game. After that, pre-drafted teams are put in 5 on 5 games, and they play the rest of the time. Below are a couple of 25s and 26’s standouts from the event!
Lucy Hynes
Lucy Hynes
Lucy is one of those players that when you catch a glimpse of her, you have to pay attention the entire time cause you don’t want to miss anything. Multiple times throughout the scrimmage piece of the event, Hynes showcased her entire skillet. Defensively, she was locked in, disciplined and tended to not make many mistakes. On the opposite side of the ball, she’s aggressive, but she blends in so well with all type of players. She can play off the ball, just as well as with it. A plug and play guard that can score on multiple levels as well.
Parker had me glued in the entire showcase. Her vision, her handles, the IQ, the ability to switch in and out of alpha and beta was so fun to watch. This kid has skills beyond her years, and she has the switch to take over, but also can go 3-5 possessions straight without touching the ball and still show the energy to want to impact the game in another way. She is smooth, but sharp with her attack skills. Soraya doesn’t need much to get past her defender, and that was on display all afternoon.
Baer is one of those forsure non positional players that colleges love to have on their roster. When you match her length (true 6 feet) with her guard skills, and the ability to guard multiple positions, and score at all levels.. you can see why she’s so successful on her HS program. To see how much skill she has now, when she’s only in her first year, you can do nothing but think about how extensive her potential is. If the work off the court is just as aggressive as it is on the court, Lexi Baer Lexi Baer 6’0″ | SF Peoria Notre Dame | 2026 State IL will be a name to remember for-sure.
Sanchez at 5’11 can adapt to at least 3 positions on the floor. She has the size and strength to deal with the 3/4, but also she has the ball skills to play the point position for a couple possessions if needed. A point forward who seems to be putting it together every time she plays. In each game she played she added a little bit more than she did in the game before. She showed her ability to get to the rim, her confidence to knock down the open shots, and also the vision to facilitate and help run an offense.
One of the most complete athletes in the gym on Sunday. McLain is as versatile as they come. Her skillset is based off her athleticism, but you can tell when its all aligned that she will be a problem for teams to deal with. She can score from all three levels, comfortable from almost anywhere behind the arc and her aggression is felt on both sides of the ball at all times. Her energy and motor cant go unrecognized. Frankie is going to be a name to know in Wisconsin.
Highlights
It was cool to look back at my notes from seeing Madison almost a year ago, and to see where she’s at now. Her main skill was her ability to defend multiple style guards in all different type of situations. Seeing her this past weekend, it seems clear thats she’s being more aggressive on the opposite side of the ball. She looks quicker then before, and even more locked in. She uses her speed and size to get through defenses to create for herself or for others. As she continues to add to her overall package, Zaremba will be a tough guard to matchup against.
Finn is a player who can knockdown the deep ball no matter what the defense looks like. She seems to be unbothered by closeouts coming from all directions. Her shooting isn’t the only thing that makes her an impactful player though, her vision with and without the ball stood out as well. Finn has a feel of when potential positive possessions are forming, and acts on it immediately. Strong IQ, and I see it only getting better!
Hayven Harden
Hayven Harden
Harden’s length is the first thing that grabs your attention, but having length and knowing how to use it.. isn’t as simple as it may seem. Hayven is aware of her position when she’s operating in the paint and near the rim. Soft touch and she doesnt always force opportunities. She’s a paint blanket on the defensive side, and has quite the athleticism to guard the block and maybe step out to the perimeter and help up there as well.
No matter what showcase I am at, Yang seems to always be present. All I hear from the players who are at these events with her is that they love having her on their team, and I truly understand why. Yang brings so much energy and effort to her surroundings that she truly challenges the people around her to keep up. She’s in the right place at the right time, she defends 1-5 with her energy and motor, and can put points on the board at all levels too. All programs need a payer like Yang who just consistently gives 100%.
