FIRST TEAM

(Captain) Cadee Blackburn, Wyoming East, G, 5-6, So. - Guards grow on trees inside the Wyoming East school district. Cadee Blackburn is the lastest guard to prove that fact. Gifted with uncommon speed and a better understanding of the game, Blackburn burst onto the scene as a freshman and improved on her appearances this season. She really turned it up for the Warriors. On the way to her first state championship, she powered the Warriors in scoring with 16.4 points on 43% shooting, along with 2.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='382604' first='Hadleigh' last='McGoskey'], Ravenswood, G, 5-4, Jr. - Ravenswood doesn't qualify for the state tournament without [player_tooltip player_id='382604' first='Hadleigh' last='McGoskey']. Sorry, not sorry. Yes, the Red Devilettes are a solid Little Kanawha Conference team. But, McGoskey made them just that much better. Her unique mix of leadership, scoring and just helping the girls be themselves really made a huge difference on the road to Charleston. Her abilities gave Cara Williams different options when it came to competing in the LKC and at the Civic Center. Because of McGoskey and point guard Emily Wratchford, Williams ran different sets and different attacks for different games. One night, it was a zone most of the game, the next game it was all man-to-man. On offense, things were just as spicy as at least seven different players could score on any give night for the Devilettes. Among those scorers, McGoskey avearged 23.6 points on 40% shooting, while shooting 36% from 3 and adding 2.1 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='379528' first='Addie' last='Smith'], Mingo Central, G, 5-5, So. - Offense much? [player_tooltip player_id='379528' first='Addie' last='Smith'] sure did. She balled out all season long on the point-scoring end for Mingo Central. In a season, where Class AA Region III featured four of the best teams in the conference, Smith packed 436 points into her 23 games of Miner goodness. Those points include a triple heard around the state one afternoon in January. With the Miners trailing eventual state champion Wymoing East in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, Smith took the ball and then made some noise. Not able to see the basket, she hoisted up a fall away trey that went in. If there was a top 10 moments of the season, surely this shot would be on it. In addition to those points, she averaged 20.8 points, 4.6 assists, 2 steals and shot 44% from 3 on the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='877486' first='Riley' last='Landis'], Williamstown, W, 5-11, Jr. - Williamstown needed a scoring leader, and [player_tooltip player_id='877486' first='Riley' last='Landis'] stepped up. Over and over and over, again, she spelled the offensive threat the Yellowjackets needed on their magical and unexpected march to a regional final. 3's, sure. Lay-ups, yup. Big buckets, uh-huh. Nothing was out of range for the junior. On the year, she helped the Yellowjackets with 14.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='153427' first='Rebekah' last='Rupert'], Ritchie County, W, 6-0, Sr. - [player_tooltip player_id='153427' first='Rebekah' last='Rupert'] put up a wonderful junior season. It didn't take long for that season to be eclipsed. Take a bow, senior Rupert. She really stepped it up. No matter the category, no matter the moment, no matter the game, she always came to play. On the way to a regional final, she scored 15.2 points, 13.8 boards, 2.6 assists, 2.8 assists and 1.9 blocks per game.

Addie Davis, St. Marys, G, 5-7, So. - Wonderful floor leaders are not a given in high school basketball. Luckily, St. Marys didn't need to worry about that issue. The Blue Devils had a great one in Addie Davis. She really understood the game of basketball and directed her teammates wonderfully. Every night she made the right moves and made the right plays in order to get her teammates in the best position to score. Pick any game, you like, she orchestrated the offense to perfection. In total, she averaged 12.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.7 steals and 1 block per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='379502' first='Grace' last='Harvey'], Summers County, P, 6-1, Jr. - [player_tooltip player_id='379502' first='Grace' last='Harvey'] doesn't know the meaning of the word 'quit.' Not one bit. Tell her she can't do something, then watch her do it anyway. Take away a part of her game, and she'll just use another part to make you pay. Nowhere was this more evident than during the Bobcats run to the state title game. She stepped up in ways much bigger than even last season. On the year, she tallied 13.8 points per game on 50% shooting, to go along with 9.8 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='385772' first='Alaira' last='Evans'], Chapmanville, SG, 5-8, Jr. - Talk about making a good first impression! [player_tooltip player_id='385772' first='Alaira' last='Evans'] returned home to Chapmanville and let her game do all the talking. Night after night, game after game, she helped the Tigers make noise in the loaded Class AA Region III. In case you weren't aware, this is the region with four teams worthy of state tournament appearance, yet only two teams qualified for Charleston. Evans certainly performed her role well as she tried to get the Tigers to the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. On the year, she averaged 18.5 points on 58% shooting from the field, along with 2 steals and 4.9 rebounds.

SECOND TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id='153433' first='Abby' last='Russell'], Wyoming East (Captain)

[player_tooltip player_id='371590' first='Zoe' last='Davis'], St. Marys

Faith Mason, Roane County

Brooke Edge, Wheeling Central

[player_tooltip player_id='383617' first='Maddie' last='Clark'], Wyoming East

[player_tooltip player_id='391462' first='Braylee' last='Corbin'], Petersburg

Jenny Sparks, Mingo Central

[player_tooltip player_id='496336' first='Faith' last='Pickens'], Williamstown

HONORABLE MENTION

Madisyn Curry, Mingo Central; Maddie Hall, Roane County; Georgie Inman, Williamstown; [player_tooltip player_id='391461' first='Kennedy' last='Kaposy'], Petersburg; [player_tooltip player_id='342226' first='Avery' last='Lilly'], Summers County; [player_tooltip player_id='385407' first='Jenna' last='Barnett'], Trinity; [player_tooltip player_id='570511' first='Mary' last='Rushworth'], Charleston Catholic; Sullivan Pivont, Summers County; Liv Meador, Summers County; [player_tooltip player_id='391460' first='Larae' last='Grove'], Frankfort; [player_tooltip player_id='403267' first='Kayley' last='Bane'], Wyoming East; Cara Brown, Bluefield; [player_tooltip player_id='385408' first='Sucora' last='Brown'], Trinity; Sterling Kump, Moorefield; Valerie Downing, Wheeling Central; [player_tooltip player_id='388080' first='Haley' last='Fleming'], Chapmanville; [player_tooltip player_id='722422' first='Jayci' last='Gray'], Ritchie County; Jaiden Mahon, Chapmanville; [player_tooltip player_id='1217509' first='Molly' last='Messer'], Charleston Catholic; Erica Nicholson, Braxton County; [player_tooltip player_id='391467' first='Breanna' last='Price'], St. Marys; Emily Wratchford, Ravenswood; Reagan Rudder, South Harrison; [player_tooltip player_id='728512' first='Mary' last='Tokodi-Ruth'], Parkersburg Catholic; Lily Vogrin, Wheeling Central
