The 2022-2023 IHSAA girls’ basketball season came to an end Saturday, as four State Champions were crowned. Very soon, I will begin my annual rundown of the all-state awards for each classification in their own articles, however, I wanted to take the time to highlight several ladies from different areas of the state. Below is a look at a handful of ladies who stood out in North Central Indiana.

, 2023, 5-7 PG, Pioneer H.S.
– While she saw the floor at Gainbridge Fieldhouse her first two years of high school, her last two years were also special, as she played injury-free. Now, the skillful, do-everything guard will head to Muncie and Ball State University. She has been a crafty ball-handler, a great shooter, but what is overlooked most is her court vision and high-level ability to really pass the ball. She is a high IQ ballplayer.

, 2023, 6-2 W, Northwestern H.S.
– McKenna also just finished an incredible career, scoring more than 1600 points and handing out nearly 400 assists, while also shooting 41% from 3-point range and 80% from the free throw line throughout her four years. She’s another kid who I think people overlook a lot of her passing and defensive contributions. The long, wiry, versatile wing will now join her older sister at Purdue University.

Carroll (Flora) | 2024
State
IN
, 2024, 5-8 G, Carroll H.S. (Flora)
– Alli had an outstanding year, scoring the ball almost at will from all over the court. She is a long, fluid, and smooth combo guard who is probably best suited to play off the ball, but she handles it a lot for the Lady Cougars. She has extremely deep range on her shot, and she makes a lot of plays off the bounce, as she can attack gaps and collapse defenses. She has also improved quite a bit defensively.
Miranda Stoll, 2024, 5-10 F, Maconaquah H.S.
– One huge surprise this year was Miranda. Due to some key 2022 graduations, she was already in line for a bigger role, but she took that role and ran with it. The Junior combo forward averaged 17.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg (up from 7.6 ppg and 3.9 rpg last year). She has nice length, a wiry-strong frame, and she plays at times around the lane but also steps outside and knocks down 3-pointers (52-149, 35%).
Addison Bowsman, 2025, 5-6 PG, Twin Lakes H.S.
– There are several highly skilled guards in the state, and Addie is right up there near the top of the list. She has a great sense for the game, the vision to find teammates, but she also understands when to shoot, when to attack, and when to manage the offense. She has nice length, good quickness and speed, plus she can change directions instantly. She averaged 17.4 ppg and 6.9 apg for the 28-1 Indians.

Mississinewa | 2025
IN
, 2025, 5-7 G, Mississinewa H.S.
– Jaci is another young guard who jumped at more opportunity this season. The Sophomore became more of the focal point for the Lady Indians offensively, averaging 15.6 ppg this year (up from 8.6 ppg as a rookie). She will rebound, plus she is more of an attacking style of player than anything, and she draws her share of free throw attempts. As she continues to develop her perimeter jumper, watch out.
Carly Davison

Clinton Central | 2026
IN
, 2026, 5-5 PG, Clinton Central H.S.
– People in Michigantown had an idea Carly would impact the Varsity as a Freshman, but I’m not sure they anticipated it would be this much. The strong, tough-nosed, hard-working guard took the reins from the outset and helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to 16 wins (three more than a season ago). She averaged 11.2 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 3.5 spg, and an impressive 6.5 apg. Bulldog fans should be excited about 2023-2024.

Faith Christian | 2026
State
IN
, 2026, 5-8 PG, Faith Christian School
– With all the fanfare Maya had entering the season, it was nice to see her put together a strong rookie campaign for the Eagles. She is extremely long and wiry, quick-footed, and North/South fast. She continues to develop her jump-shot, but she did knock down 33% (57-174) of her 3-point attempts this year. She also averaged 20.4 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 4.8 apg, and 4.8 spg. She is an incredibly active defender as well.
