Osbourne park is loaded with talent, and Jayel West and their other cast of freshmen play a massive role in that. Jayel was solid all year, averaging 6.4 PPG. She plays off the ball a lot right now, but with senior guards Alana Powell Alana Powell 5’8″ | CG Osbourn Park | 2023 State VA and Kori Cole leaving after this season, Jayel can show her skillset a lot more. She should be a big riser this summer and will be a significant factor next season.
St. John’s is one of the best girl’s teams in the country, and they have a lot of talent on the bench. One is Lyla Coogen Lyla Coogen 6’3″ | SG St. Johns College | 2026 VA . With St. John’s losing Delaney Thomas next year, Lyla will be asked to step into a more prominent role. Lyla has serious defensive potential because of her length, and it’s one of the more underrated parts of her game. She is a fantastic shooter and a talented big, and she will grow into her game this summer during AAU ball.
Highlights
I talked about Osbourne park’s freshman talent, and the best might be Keyarah Rainey Keyarah Rainey 5’9″ | SF Osboure Park | 2026 State VA . She missed some time this year but was integral to Osbourne park’s dominance. She’s their second-leading scorer at 8.4 PPG and leads the team in SPG. And just like Jayel West, the departure of Alana Powell Alana Powell 5’8″ | CG Osbourn Park | 2023 State VA and Kori Cole will force her into a bigger role that she will flourish in.
PVI had a small rotation this year, only playing six players. And two are guards that won’t be on the team next year. Madison Nicholson Madison Nicholson 5’5″ | CG Paul VI | 2026 State VA will have a larger role with the departure of Brooke Batchelor Brooke Batchelor 5’10” | SG Paul VI | 2023 State VA and Anna Kunzweiler. She got spot minutes occasionally but didn’t have much of a role. She will develop more this summer and be a big part of what PVI does next season.

Centreville doesn’t have many players that won’t return next year, making their team a dangerous one heading into next season. Claire Kang is their starting PG and one of the more underrated players in NOVA. Her game needs to mature a little, and It will this summer. She will take a massive step forward this summer and be an even more significant contributor to Centreville HS.
