This comes from someone with a daughter who not only plays the 1 but has won both NCAA and WNBA Championships, so I know a little something that means a lot. Journey Taylor and Madyson Mitchell Madyson Mitchell 5'8" | SG Taylor | 2026 State TX ran the point on the weekend and were named to the Day 1 Top Performers list. I also dropped 3 others, who did a good job running their squads, Sakuri Wilson, Saniyah Morrison Saniyah Morrison 5'3" | PG Tulsa Rogers | 2025 OK , and Cambri Pawpa Cambri Pawpa 5'8" | PG Wagoner | 2024 State OK on Day 2 Top Performers yet here are some other standouts from the ONE
Scott has been one of the most consistent point guards I’ve caught on the PGH Circuit since I first spotted her last season. Her ability to run a team by controlling the tempo, being heady, vocal, as well as directing traffic is a college coaches dream and trust me, she has raised eyebrows. She sees the floor and makes the right pass but her ball-handling under pressure and ability to score or dish off the dribble is a huge plus yet, she keeps adding because she can not only drop it from outside, she also defends
Rossini is one of the most improved point guards from last season and her progression has been uplifting. Her turning several corners started with her school team yet she’s been on a tear showing combo skills. Yeah, she handled the ball and sees the floor under pressure but her scoring off the dribble using a deceptive first step coupled with good body control has given her numerous and one opportunities. She also is creating her shot better and dropping it from mid to long-range, while being defended and in the clutch
Mikaela Tampus
Mikaela Tampus
Tampus is from Arkansas and she made my Tip Sheet from the Dynasty Regional Kickoff. Okay, I used #sizedontmatter for a reason but here’s the deal, out of all of what I saw and wrote, she still managed to give me yet another look at what she brings to the table and THAT is very important. She got her squad involved early and her court vision in the open court was among the best at the event yet what really “grabbed me’ was her “poise under pressure”. She recognized the double teams and the traps and her handling the ball while making good decision under heated conditions spoke volumes
Shield has always been a player that “THOUGHT THE GAME” while playing within herself, which is always part of being “heady” but no matter what the defense brought at her, she handled it with solid ball-handling along with court vision and her threading the needle between defenders on the break in the open court had me smiling. She also can score off the dribble, finishes strongly using good body control as well as drop it from outside, while being defended. Speaking of defended, she plays both ends and her “on the ball” pressure was smothering at times and helped create turnovers
Rylee Boyes
Rylee Boyes
Boyes is from Kansas and she was one of the many standouts on her squad. I love players using body control off the dribble, especially when the know the LICK is coming yet her concentration helped her stay with it and the finishing strongly after contact had me smiling at my screen. Not only did she score off the dribble, she hit her teammates while attacking the basket but she also saw the floor in the set as well as in transition and her crisp passes to her teammates gave them some “gimme” opportunities. She also did a something I love to see and that’s playing the passing lane
