The Deep South Classic took place in Raleigh at the Convention Center as it welcomed teams from a number of states – including Maryland. Raleigh also happens to be the home of NC State University which has one of the premier women’s basketball programs in the country.
We at Prep Girls Hoops were on hand for the festivities. Without further adieu, here is a look at those who put together impressive performances from Maryland.
Se’Lah Foreman
Se’Lah Foreman
It is said that seven is a lucky number. Foreman may wear No. 7 for Team Xposure 16U, but her success on the court can be more attributed to skill rather than luck. Foreman finished with eight points which ran its record at the time to 2-0 for this season’s Deep South Classic with the win over Lowcountry Premier Ballers 2025 16U. Defensively, she gives opposing teams and coaches fits as she can stick to an opposing ball carrier like glue. Foreman is also willing to play the game on contact where she has no problems getting to the free throw line. Included in her overall offensive arsenal is the ability to drain her 3-point attempts.
Zion Oge
Zion Oge
Oge brings plenty of size and versatility to her Team Xposure 16U bunch. She was another of the team’s primetime performers against South Carolina-based Lowcountry Premier Ballers 2025 16U as she finished with seven points. A great deal of what Oge gets accomplished on the court is near the rim – whether it is high-percentage shots or prowess as a rebounder. Defensively, she is a consistent threat to corral steals. Oge also approaches the game with an overall high basketball IQ while also doing many of the little things – such as hustling for loose balls – that may not always show up on a scoresheet.
Carlisa Johnson
Carlisa Johnson
Team Xposure 16U needed a low post presence to match the interior presence that South Carolina-based Lowcountry Premier Ballers 2025 16U would throw at them. This is where No. 25 enters the picture. Johnson was the leading point-getter in her team’s 51-43 victory over the assembling from the Carolinas as she tallied 11 points. Her offensive versatility was displayed with her ability to knock down shots from downtown. Johnson also does plenty of the little things that may not necessarily appear on a scoresheet – such as hustling for loose balls. She also has no problem attempting tough shots even when teams attempt to put her in precarious situations with their defenses.
Julianna Lesher
Julianna Lesher
Three players scored the overwhelming majority of points for Team Mid-Atlantic in its hard-fought contest with South Carolina-based Lowcountry Premier Ballers 17U. Lesher was one of those three. She managed to display her willingness to take midrange jumpers and also displayed how effective she can be as a shot blocker. Lesher understands how to get in position for high percentage shots and also understands that her activity away from the ball can set her team up nicely for new schemes and plays on the offensive end of the court. Getting to the free throw line is antother noteworthy element to her game. She concluded her afternoon with a 19-point effort.
Autumn Stottlemire
Autumn Stottlemire
The result for Stottlemire and her Team Mid-Atlantic Legacy 17U squad may not have been what it was looking for against Palmetto State-based Lowcountry Premier Ballers 224 17U, but it was a productive game individually for the veteran standout. It was a 14-point performance for the standout from the Baltimore area. Nine of those 14 were scored in the first half when Team Mid-Atlantic Legacy had established a lead over Lowcountry Premier Ballers 17U. One way that she puts points on the scoreboard is via the 3-point shot. Stottlemire will also attack the rim and deliver strong finishes at the cup.
Maddy Gassman
Maddy Gassman
All Gass and no brakes will produce plenty of hoops success. With 15 points, Gassman also had herself a productive outing on Saturday afternoon when Team mid-Atlantic Legacy faced off against a team from South Carolina in Lowcountry Premier Ballers 17U. That mentality particularly shows itself when hustling for loose balls. Those may not show up on a scoresheet, but it will stay in the memory of many a coach when deciding who to allot playing time to. Gassman also will display plenty of accuracy from behind the 3-point line. She appears poised for even more success as she transitions to the veteran portion of her high school career.

Mya Whittington
Mya Whittington
In a contest as close as Team Xposure 16U’s was against Lowcountry Premier Ballers 2025 16U, every point counts – including the seven that Whittington scored against the Palmetto State-based team. Whittington is anything but shy about attempting shots from distance – and she drained a couple of them in the first half that accounted for six of her seven points. In addition, she will go after her fair share of rebounds and the defense she plays can leave plenty of teams prone to turning over the ball. When she has the ball in her hand, she can attract double teams – a sign of the respect opposing teams have for her skillset.
