Let’s take a look at some of the standout 2024 ball handlers.
Boston Bates Boston Bates 5’6″ | SG North Meck | 2024 State NC plays well on both ends stripping the ball from her opponents and pushing it the other direction battling through contact for some points on fast breaks. She was handling the ball well facilitating offenses and making some nice moves relocating after the pass. She plays with a high intensity throughout the game bringing energy to her team on both ends of the court.
Delanie Hill Delanie Hill 5’7″ | CG Providence | 2024 State NC attacked the basket and was handling the ball well against any kind of pressure. She knocked down her shot from deep giving her team some life in the second half of a game on Saturday. Her awareness on the court of finding the open lanes for her teammates or herself will certainly translate well to the next level.
Madi Hawk had some nice moves attacking the basket and scoring off aggressive takes to the hoop. She was knocking down shots from deep, too, and using that to get around her defender on the perimeter. Her change of direction moves were lethal getting to the basket for some points.
Vanessa McManus Vanessa McManus 5’7″ | SF Nazareth | 2024 NC was all over the court grabbing steals and using her speed to push the ball up the court scoring some solo fast breaks. She had some nice pass fakes to lose her defender and score some jump shot points. She can knock down her shot from deep, too. She had a nice hustle back play getting the block in transition.
Jayda Angel Jayda Angel 5’6″ | CG Cape Fear | 2024 State NC reads the floor well moving with the ball getting in the best places to make her entry passes into the paint. She is explosive getting inside for rebounds, and she’s very quick laterally making sure no opponent gets by her on defense. She can certainly score well herself finishing at the rim or using jump stops to pull up for her jumpers.
Jazlyn Harris Jazlyn Harris 5’8″ | PG Quality Education Academy | 2024 State NC did a nice job on defense getting around her opponent trying to seal her off on the block. She attacks the basket battling contact making them count from the free throw line. She has a way of getting to the hoop that makes her a scoring threat on all levels using her speed and handles to create space for herself.
Jasmine Harris Jasmine Harris 5’8″ | CG Northern Guilford | 2024 State NC showed off her handles dribbling in the lane to open up the court and making some nice dishes to her teammates. She stripped the ball from her teammates and pushed the other direction with ease attacking the basket. She showed off her range shooting the ball from around the perimeter. Her ability to attack the basket leads to old fashioned three point plays, too.
