How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-I feel like my team performed really well this year, especially considering how we lost a starter last year who was crucial to our team, it was great working together with no drama to make the playoffs. I think I performed fairly well, I had more fun this season than I did last year.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-The biggest obstacle that my team had to face this season in my opinion was losing one of our teammates this season to a knee injury. She was a hustle player who always benefitted the team by being on the floor and doing what others didn’t want to do.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-On the court, I think I most improved on my shooting farther from the rim, as well as my leadership and knowing how others received input.
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-One thing I’m looking to improve on in this school offseason is my quickness, along with ball handling and continuing to grow in my outside shooting. I also would love to be able to play some more guard next season, and would love to sharpen those skills as well.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season?rn-Some teammates that I think stood out this season are two of our seniors, Ava Bailey and Emma Moore Emma Moore 5’8″ | CG Bonney Lake | 2024 WA .
Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-2 teammates that I believe could have a breakout season next year are Center Ava Rice and one of our key shooters Evin Elias.
Highlights
How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-We had bright spots in the season and showed that we can hang with top teams. We know we underachieved by not finishing our season at the Tacoma Dome, so that is our top priority coming into next season. We are hungry to improve and win a championship for Chiawana.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-Inconsistency. We were considered a young team and at times played like it. Some games we played effortlessly, some games we made things harder by over thinking.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-Utilizing my 3pt shooting more, overall speed and agility. I became a main option used to break the press repeatedly due to my physicality and ability to bring the ball up the court.
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-Working on my perimeter skills and quicker decision making. I want to be known as more than just a strong post player. I also want to step up as a leader, and be more vocal to help my team.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season?rn- Kaia Foster Kaia Foster 6’2″ | SF Chiawana | 2025 State WA had multiple double double games and was consistently a tough match-up for opponents.
Marisela Contreras Marisela Contreras 5’5″ | CG Chiawana | 2025 State WA showcased herself as a strong 3pt shooter, and led our team in 3pt percentage.
Mattalee Woolf led the team in assists, and provided strong senior leadership for our team.
Gianna Medelez Gianna Medelez 5’8″ | CG Chiawana | 2026 State WA had a big role as arnfreshman, and helped our team as a threat in multiple positions.
Honestly, every single person on our team stood out at various times throughout the season- whether it was offense or defense. Stats don’t always reflect the big impact made to win the game, but from top to bottom, everyone contributes- Mia Tijerina, Alexa Campos, Eva Thompson, Stella Zaro.
Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-With a new incoming head coach (TBA) and new coaching philosophy coming in, it will be fun to see what evolves with our team. With the core of our team being juniors, and the addition of some new players that could be big contributors, anyone could have a breakout year.
Highlights
How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-Our team throughout the season I believe performed to the best of our ability, there were many times of adversity throughout the season and I think we faced it well and overcame it as well as we could. Personally I was happy with my performance but not satisfied. I reached goals this season but there is many more that I did not get this season that I hope to in the next few. My role was increased largely this year and I believe I was able to take it on and perform as well as I could.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-During the season our team had many locker room talks and together we agreed that selfishness was the number one thing keeping us from being the best team we could be. Eventually I believe we were able to overcome this and we made a amazing run and I am very proud of what we did as a team
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-For me I increased my shot consistency and improved my shooting from last season. I was focused in the gym this summer and fall and knew what I wanted to improve and the results were shown. My jumper and ability to get it off was another large improvement
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-My hope for next season is that I am able to get to the rim and finish at the rim more consistently then this past season. Although, I am mostly working on becoming a better passer and leader for my team as my role will likely increase again in that area next season
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-Teammates that I thought had a very good season this year were Demi Dykstra Demi Dykstra 5’9″ | CG Lynden Christian | 2023 State WA and Daisy Poag Daisy Poag CG Lynden Christian | 2023 WA . Our team could always count on Demi to make the right play and hit big shots when we needed her to. Daisy in my opinion is one of the best shooters in the state. She consistently knocked down threes and stepped up in big games and helped our team to the title game I think Ella Fritts Ella Fritts 5’6″ | CG Lynden Christian | 2026 State WA and Allison Shumate have a great shot at being large contributors to our team this next season. Both are very determined and hard working and very talented baseball players.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-I think we performed okay, it was hard because it was a new team and we were just learning how to play together. but for how new our team was we did pretty good, we definitely got better as a collective group throughout season also and improved a lot as a team.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-The biggest obstacle my team faced this season, had to be the 4 weeks where everyone on our team was either sick or injured. we played without some of our key players, we lost a few games but we worked as a team and came back stronger.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-I think i improved a lot on defense. this was something I focused on this season because i knew that is something i would have to do to help my team win and be successful. defense always turns into offense so the more energy we bring on defense the more we would win.
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-I’m looking to improve on rebounding for next season. i know as a smaller guard it will be harder, but that is something i need to do in order to be a presence all around the floor.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn⁃A teammate i think stood out this season was Ava Smith Ava Smith 5’8″ | SG Union | 2024 State WA . she stepped up on defense and rebounding. and she also hit some big shots for us this season. a teammates i believe could have a breakout year next year is Layla Senderson Layla Senderson 5’9″ | CG Mountain View | 2025 WA . Layla stepped up a lot for us this season in all areas. she impacted the game on both ends of the court. big things are ahead for her!
