And fast. When she hits the floor for AAU, Summer League, just about anything, she’s going to likely be receiving a few nudges in the back this summer. Her importance to those teams, especially the Patriots, is more clear now than ever. GW needed one more ball handler last year for a chance at Charleston. So, fans should expect GW head man Jamie LaMaster and GW coach Brian Mallory to push her hard. She’s got the skills to be a ball handler and a contributor on the NAIA and D3 levels. She still has a lot to work on, but her poise in her small amounts of playing time this year for GW worked, among other things leaves her in a good spot right now. She’s got a bright future ahead of her.
Sophi Aldridge Sophi Aldridge 5'5" | CG Cabell Midland | 2024 State WV , Cabell Midland, SG, 5-8, Jr. – What can the Knight do when she is the No. 1 option? That is the question that surrounds Aldridge’s summer. Sure, maybe it isn’t one we don’t sorta already have an answer to. But we will know fully after this spring/summer. After she’s honed her skills against some of the best, we will have the opportunity to see just what she’s learned. I have a hunch she rises to the occasion.
Faith Pickens, Williamstown, C, 6-1, So. – Faith Pickens may just be the hardest working kid in the entire state. At least, right now. We really need more kids like Pickens. Every class would prosper from that kind of upgrade. What she’s currently doing in the weight room and on the practice court really make you understand why Williamstown nearly advanced to the state tournament. She’s working harder in the lane, she’s shooting more 3s, and she’s getting more confident down low on the block. Throw in the summer she’s having with the Bruins, and well, she’s coming back to the high school court primed for success. Her game is going to play well at the D-III or NAIA level. Coaches should be clamoring over themselves to get this kid, who will work hard at anything you ask from her.
Kilah Dandridge Kilah Dandridge 5'8" | CG Saint Maria Goretti (Maryland) | 2025 WV , Spring Mills, SG, 5-8, So. – It could be a transformational summer for this young lady. If she brings the confidence with her from Spring Mills regular season to the AAU court, we might just be looking at a rise in possibilities. Dandridge can already play at the low D2 level, even be a contributor on a high D2 team, but she could blow past that into starting for a D2 team or contributing to a low D1 school. She’s going to face some strong competition thanks the W.Va. Thunder schedule. The type of girls she will be facing are all in her same boat or above. Given her game, coaches should be interested in a kid who scores big points with low shots. yes, she’s accurate and can attack from a number of different angles.
Lily Jordan Lily Jordan 6'0" | PF Morgantown | 2024 State WV , Morgantown, W, 6-0, Jr. – Jordan did a great job showing she could lead a team during her time with the Morgantown Mohigans this past school year. During a season where they chased and won a state crown, she showed up with an unselfish style to her game. Though she enjoys playing on the perimeter, MHS head coach Doug Goodwin needed her on the block. Her size and athletic ability really made her stand out. Then, she stood out. When she hit the post, she was nearly impossible to stop. Her ball-handling and ability to get to the rim in many different ways made it difficult on everyone. Division I school should be looking at at this young lady. She has another gear in her that I am not sure we have seen just yet. Given how far her first four gears take her, I would say fifth gear looks like a winner, too.
