Six teams entered the Wheat State Slam’s 15U section of the Prep Girls Hoops Dynasty (KS) ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] Region circuit stop April 7 and 8. Congratulations to Next Level Eclipse 2026 McCorry finishing as the only undefeated team at 4-0 and to Kansas Elite 2026 Red, who ended at 3-1. Enjoy another look at the first team as well.
Second Team
Avery McCorry Avery McCorry 5'9" | SG Bishop Carroll | 2026 State KS , 5’9″, CG/SF, Bishop Carroll, Next Level Eclipse 2026 McCorry, 2026 – McCorry does a lot of things and plays a lot of positions well. She handles the ball to run some point, has good height and quickness to exploit defenses on the perimeter and inside. I also like her ability to defend at each of those positions. She transitions very well and can score the mid-range jumper solidly.
Addison Gulley, 5’10”, PF, De Soto, Kansas Elite 2026 White, 2026 – Gully has a fairly solid build that she put to good use inside. Game-by-game she gained confidence and chose her spots well to lay some wood on her opponent. Gully improved the amount of space she created to catch entry passes and was able to block the occasional shot without fouling. She has a good base ability to score through contact and anticipate steal opportunities against entry passes to who she is guarding.
Hayden Halliday Hayden Halliday 5'5" | PG Olathe South | 2027 State KS , 5’5″, PG, Olathe South, Kansas Elite 2026 Red, 2027 – Halliday had a slow start for the first game Friday but come Saturday for the team’s three games then, she was on it. Halliday is not big first step and strong laterally quickness player. However, her quickness showed itself in some interesting situations. Her hand speed is very good and as each game came and went her handles kept getting stronger. She gets a good step when she sets up a move while working on the perimeter. Her next two steps are quick also, which gets her to the basket where she absorbs contact on the dish or shot. I like her strength, especially in her lower body. It helps her sustain an edge and she uses it well boxing out.
Breanne Ricke Breanne Ricke 5'2" | CG Wichita County | 2026 State KS , 5’3″, PG, Wichita County, Magic Basketball 2026, 2026 – Ricke has solid handles because she controls her dribble well. Among the moves she uses is a very quick whirl in the half court. Instant space enables her to exploit a crease and get to the basket. It also enables her to draw defenders so she can hit shooters who are spotting up.
Emerson Kirk Emerson Kirk 5'6" | CG Bucklin | 2026 State KS , 5’6″, CG, Bucklin, Magic Basketball 2026, 2026 – There are three prominent abilities that I liked about Kirk’s game. She always has her head on a swivel in transition. It does not matter whether she has the ball or not nor if she is transition to offense or defense. She also can score in a variety of situations. All of those happen because she displays good, smooth confidence. She takes defenders off the bounce; shoots the three ball; and flashes and dives to use her good hands to catch and finish. A good but not yet great defender. But with her solid overall quickness and headiness, that will come.
