There are a handful of kids who I enjoyed watching through the event, and tonight I’ll have a few articles discussing a few kids I haven’t talked about yet.
Zuri Ransom Zuri Ransom 5'9" | CG Evanston | 2024 State IL
I’ve seen Ransom play about two or three times this AAU season, and every time I see her, she seems better than she was from the last time I saw her play. Ransom is an athletic 6-0 wing that can do anything a coach would want on both ends of the floor. Even when she shoots, it looks perfect out of her hands every single time. She has no weaknesses in her game.
Kylah McCullers
It’d been about a year since I watched a game from McCullers. As one of the few 2023s at the event, she played more maturely than anyone on the floor with her. The one thing college coaches should know about her game if you’re unfamiliar with her is that she can shoot the ball at an elite level. At Madison East, she was the biggest on-ball threat, and she still managed to make shots at a high level. She does well under pressure. She’s still available as a senior. Someone should take a chance on her because she’s excellent.
Leah Nordin Leah Nordin 6'1" | PF Shawano | 2026 State WI
Whenever I see Nordin play, she does one thing per game that doesn’t make sense in the best way possible. After first seeing her play, you’d never believe a kid her size could be as athletic, skilled, and laterally quick as Nordin. There is nothing you can even critique about her game in a macro sense. She can shoot, run the floor like a spooked deer, and defend all five positions. She’s improved over the past year a lot, and she was still a cut above her peers at that time. She’s one of the most talented kids in the state, regardless of class.
Maddison Gratz
Some aspects of the game seem insignificant but can alter the course of a game, and Gratz does those things. For instance, she plays on a team who’s smaller than most. In turn, Gratz does a lot of work on the perimeter, drawing posts out of the lane and attacking them to get layups or force help defenders to come down and cut off the drive in the paint. She stars in her role.
