I’ll have a few articles up for kids who fit the bill for this tonight and will continue talking about kids who’ve excelled this AAU season, with a possible surprise next week.
Paige Seckar Paige Seckar 6'0" | SF Oshkosh West | 2024 State WI
If you’re looking for an elite defender with a high ceiling offensively, look no further than Seckar. The Oshkosh West wing has been one of the best defensive players in the FVA over the last two seasons and has been a part of one of the best defensive units in the conference, and I’d argue most of that is down to her. If you watch her in every game, you’ll always see flashes of what she could be on the offensive end, but I have a different conclusion than it being potential because I believe she’s a kid who can average 18 points and eight rebounds right now at the high school level. Since she plays in a slower system, her numbers are a bit skewed, but she’s one of the best players in one of the best conferences in the Midwest.
Melia Lemorande Melia Lemorande 6'0" | SF Bay Port | 2026 State WI
I talked about Lemorande at nauseam this weekend and with good reason. She was probably the best 2026 prospect at the event as far as performances go, and coaches will love what they see from her when they sit down and watch her. The athleticism, shooting, and defense help, but her mentality takes her a step beyond 99% of her peers. Even from the first play, she was upset over a questionable call, and it seemed to fuel her for the rest of the game. She’s a kid who doesn’t only want to win games or halves. Lemorande wants to win every possession and plays like it. She sprints around the floor away from the ball, looking for open shots off screens. She quickly became one of my favorite 2026 prospects, and this likely won’t be the last time I watch her this summer.
Kyrin Lile Kyrin Lile 6'0" | PF Elkhorn | 2026 State WI
Watching Lile play up close is a bit of an experience because she does a lot without always looking like she’s doing a lot when you watch her from the bleachers. She’s an anchor on the defensive end who directs traffic on the back end. For instance, Lile will call out screens to her guards so they don’t take hard hits. She can contain ball handlers on the perimeter and cut off driving lanes. Lile also protects the rim better than you’d expect. The Elkhorn native also brings a ton of versatility. She can attack off the dribble, play with her back to the basket, and space the floor and perimeter jumpers. There aren’t many roles the 6-0 forward can’t play.
Alexis Charbonneau Alexis Charbonneau 5'9" | SG McFarland | 2026 WI
Programs are always looking for kids who can shoot the ball at a high level, and Charbonneau did that this past weekend in Appleton. However, what made her stand out the most, was what she did off the threat of her shooting. The McFarland guard attacked closeouts well and finished in multiple ways with both hands. I thought she played smart and took what the defense gave her, and since she plays an off-ball role, that’s all she has to do, and she did it extremely well.
