New Missouri Names of Gateway Challenge Forwards

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri introduces you to some more new names of forwards from the state who we saw in action at the USJN Gateway Challenge in Chesterfield, MO.       <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/IMG_0598.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-652942" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='741583' first='Ava' last='Graham'] (Kansas Elite 16U DD1): A 6'1" 2025 forward from Class 1 West Nodaway who was a very effective player in the post with her strength and physicality. She displayed some good footwork in the post as she has the ability to score with either hand. Her positioning was very good as she did a good job of battling some of the top young post players in the state.   *******       <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Sydney-Bode.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653328" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='730180' first='Sydney' last='Bode'] (Mavericks G-Elite 17U): A 6'2" 2025 forward from Marquette who has an impressive skill set and a high basketball IQ. She is an excellent ball handler who helped out the guards against full court pressure as an outlet. She also passed the ball very well as she could see over defenders. She plays a finesse game inside with a soft shooting touch around the basket.   *******           <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Nora-Roddy.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653307" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='1005339' first='Nora' last='Roddy'] (Kansas Eclipse 17U- Blue Star): A 6'1" 2025 forward from St. Theresa's who did a nice job spacing the floor with her ability to hit the 3-pointer. She has a high-arching shot from behind the right ear ala former NBA star Jamal Wilkes. She was effective on the pick and pop. She could also get the rebound and get out to lead the fast break with her solid handles. She was also a factor on the defensive end with her length as she challenged shots in the paint.   *******         <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Laura-Babbitt.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653309" /></figure>   Laura Babbitt (Flash KC 17U): A 6'0" 2024 forward from Liberty North who has good length and is very skilled. She covered a lot of space when she attacked the basket with her long strides. She was very effective off the dribble and she didn't mind going coast to coast when she grabbed a rebound. She can also defend on the perimeter or in the post with her height and mobility.   *******         <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Taylor-Osborn.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653310" /></figure>   Taylor Osborn (Kansas Eclipse 16U- Blue Star): A 6'0" 2026 forward from St. Theresa's who has length and impressive athleticism. She used both to be a force on the defensive end with her rebounding and ability to block shots. On one play, she literally grabbed a shot right out of a player's hands. She ran the court very well and caught the ball on the move to get transition buckets. She also makes her free throws, which I like.   ********         <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Amelia-Sherrill.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653315" /></figure>   Amelia Sherrill (TC Hoops 16KaBrea Fair (TC Hoops 16U): A 6'0" 2025 forward from Farmington St. Paul who was wheeling and dealing in the low post for buckets with either hands. She can also step out to the high post to knock down 15 footers. She was a very good passer out of the double teams. She is a physical player who also set solid screens to get her teammates open.     ******       <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/KeBrea-Fair.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653322" /></figure>   KeBrea Fair Fair ([program_tooltip program_id='715747' first='Team' last='Blackout'] 17U): A 5'8" 2025 forward who stepped into some heavy minutes inside during the weekend as her team was missing its post players. She did an excellent job by using her strength and physicality to battle taller players throughout the event. She was very good at carving out space for offensive rebounding and she scored on several putbacks. She played very big during the weekend.   *******       <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Boston-Wand.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653316" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='745615' first='Boston' last='Wand'] (Flash KC 17U): A 6'0" 2025 forward from Park Hill who is a blue collar worker in the low post. She used her size well to establish her position and she held it well. She could finish well and also draw fouls to get to the free throw line. She is a good rebounder who was always looking to block out somebody when the shot went up.   ******     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Ava-Bruner.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-653321" /></figure>   Ava Bruner (Flash KC 15U): As I was walking around the gym from court to court, I actually stumbled onto a court and saw this 6'4" 2026 forward from Faith Christian in action and I had to do a double-take. What I saw was this young post player hitting short jump hooks in the lane on back to back possessions. That was very impressive. She moves up and down the court well and she keeps the ball up when she catches it.
