Hogan put together a nice tournament overall. Had some games that she really stood out scoring the ball and getting to her spots on the floor. A player who has good head on her shoulders accompanied with some nice overall skill when it comes to scoring, handling, and rebounding at a high rate. Can be a player who can come out and score 25 in the blink of an eye with her shooting ability.
Highlights
Riley left off right where she started during the state tournament. An Elite scoring threat with the ball in her hands. Takes a lot of contact while being able to finish near the rim. Deadly three point shot with a quick release once she creates space. Overall one of the best talents at this entire tournament when you take a step back and see the bigger picture.
Lengthy and athletic forward who can spread the floor and shoot the ball from deep if her defender doesn’t respect her. Had several occasions this weekend where she displayed her superior physicality, scoring over smaller/weaker players either in the post or mid-range. Promising prospect with a fairly high ceiling.
Izzy Eisbach Izzy Eisbach 5’9″ | SG Nodaway Valley | 2026 State IA but together a solid tournament for the Waukee Jam 2025. She scored in bunches and in a hurry, played some intense defense, and left it all on the floor. She is one of the big time scorers and overall leaders for her team and that was on full display this weekend. She showed that looking forward she is a name to keep an eye on this spring/summer.
Highlights
Storhoff was flying all over the court this past weekend for her Air Minnesota Teams. She displayed a great sense of urgency mixed with patients while leading her team in a multitude of ways. She showed that she was one of the most promising young talents at the entire tournament. If she keeps expanding her game while she grows, watch out, because if so she is going to be one of the top players in her state by the end of her high school career.
Highlights
Jordyn Crosman Jordyn Crosman 5’4″ | CG Ogden | 2026 State IA had some good moments, had some not so good moments, but all in all played well for her team this weekend on the way to a bunch of wins. Crosman was blowing by her defenders with ease, getting to the middle of the floor and finding open teammates. Defensively she did a great job jumping to the ball, creating a good amount of steals for her Play4Him 2026 white team. A player who knows her role and plays it very well, usually being a big contributor in some way each game.
Khloe Nicholson
Khloe Nicholson
Remember the name Khloe Nicholson. Nicholson is playing up an age group for her 25 Eight Mentality 2027 team and is still usually one of the tallest, if not thee tallest, player on the floor a majority of the time. This seventh grader is special. Stands at 5’11 currently. Has a smooth handle, Elite passing ability, and the skill to score from almost anywhere on the court. She is going to be a big time player out of Illinois over the next few seasons, it’s very easy to see.
Mila Van Weelden Mila Van Weelden 5’9″ | SG Marion | 2024 State IA was letting it fly this weekend, making a majority of her attempts from behind the three point line. I like Van Weelden’s game. She is always ready to catch and shoot at the three point line while being a great on-ball defender. Another great piece to have on the floor for a team that is diverse and effecient. Another player that any coach would love to work with.

Fantastic power forward that played center for her team this past weekend. Has the ability to spread the floor out to 15ft with her shooting stroke. Not afraid to be physical. Very good when going over either shoulder when she catches with her back to the basket. Understands situational basketball better than most. High motor type of player with excellent overall coordination. Has a lot of passion for the game, more then most.
Sister of Meghan with a similar skill set. Another player who thrives off of energy and the passion of the teammates around her on the court. Displayed all weekend that she was a strong rebounder who attacked the boards with aggression. In an Elite program like State 38 Basketball it can be hard to stand out but Madison does a good job of letting everyone know she is on the court and ready to roll. Shows a lot of dedication to the game.
Kenzie Kassing
Kenzie Kassing
Kenzie Kassing maybe the center with the most overall promise, that I saw this weekend at the Legacy Classic. A player who already has great size at 6FT, showed that she knows what she is doing near the hoop. She creates space early, possesses excellent footwork, displays that she can play through contact, is extremely coordinated, and understands her size to a T. Another big name to know out of Illinois. She is going to be a handful at the varsity level this winter if she sticks with it.

Ayana Owens Ayana Owens 5’9″ | CG Lincoln | 2025 State NE showed me on more than one occasion that she WAS the best on-ball defender there this weekend. Absolutely lockdown. Owen displayed an extremely fast side-to-side step while being able to stay in front of a quick guard. There wasn’t a player I saw all weekend that beat Owens, if they did it was only momentarily as her recover speed is impeccable. Not to mention on the offensive side of things she is better than most. She played up an age level all weekend but by watching her play, you would never know.
