It’s always a pleasure for me to see those who continue to show the progression on the court because I know where the bar was set, been out here for over 20 years so it’s always good to see players that were already good that aren’t settling and here are some that I have SEEN personally multiple times
One more time, you can always find where I’ll be by clicking the EVENTS tab on my website
#6 Jasmine Gipson Jasmine Gipson 6'0" | SF Duncanville | 2025 State TX -6’0 SF (Duncanville)
Up from #11, Gipson was a #D1Lock the first time I saw her and how high she would go would depend on her. To say she continues to elevate her game each season would be an understatement because she can score around the basket, off the dribble, and mid to long-range. Her defense continues to create problems, she rebounds on both ends yet her playing the passing lane and handling the ball in the open court is also creating problems because of her court vision
#8 Kianna Wormly Kianna Wormly 5'9" | SF Vista Ridge | 2025 State TX -5’10 SF (Vista Ridge
Up from #20, Wormly continues to be a threat playing multiple positions and I love players that play taller/bigger than they are. Her UPS alone leaves me speechless at times, whether it’s being the recipient of alley-oops or snagging rebounds, to the novice, grabbing with one hand in the air, over taller players is something to see. Her pull-up jumper, mid to long-range, is solid, she attacks and scores off the dribble and she applies heat on the defensive end
#19 Abby Seitz Abby Seitz 5'9" | CG Vista Ridge | 2025 State TX -5’7 CG (Vista Ridge)
Up from #26, Seitz is pound for pound, inch for inch, and is one of the toughest players in Texas that can actually play. She falls into that “and one” waiting to happen category because she understands how to CREATE contact off the dribble and her strength as well as body control proves the contact is irrelevant. Her mid to long-range jumper is solid yet her court vision as well as ball-handling under pressure are huge pluses that enable her to play the 1 and 2, she doesn’t mind battling for rebounds against taller players, and her defense is solid
#21 Aolani Woldai Aolani Woldai 5'7" | CG Brewer | 2025 State TX -5’7 CG (Brewer)
Up from #33 Woldai is in my “never takes a play-off” group I talk about regularly and when I see others writing things about BB-IQ that are clueless about what they’re talking about, her ability to THINK the game continues to elevate her status. Her defense is smothering and yes, she’s explosive off the dribble both in the set as well as in transition but her desire to get her teammates involved by setting them up and being vocal on the court keeps me smiling. She scores mid to long-range, as well as attacking the basket yet she makes those around her BETTER
#27 Ally Ihler Ally Ihler 6'1" | SG Salado | 2025 State TX -6’1 SG (Salado)
Up from #45, Ihler sold me years ago because of her ability to SHOOT THE BALL standing over the magic number. I love that, and more importantly, so do college coaches, and her mid to long-range shooting is a major attraction to go with her being “long and athletic”. If it’s one thing I wanted to see more of, it was her aggressiveness and she showed that at the #AllEyezOnMe Individual Showcase a few weeks ago yet at the TABC Girls Showcase week before last, her ballhandling and court vision adds more to the equation
#29 Jerriyah Baines Jerriyah Baines 5'10" | SF Killeen | 2025 State TX -5’10 SF (Kileen)
Up from #50, Baines became one of my “must-see” players years ago because I knew what was coming. She already had the “college-ready frame” and everything has fallen into place. She creates her shot under pressure and knocks down the midrange with ease, which is a lost art and a major next-level attraction but she also can drop the money ball from BTA. Her scoring off the dribble is nice, yet her seeing the floor while attacking is over the top, especially when she hits teammates with the behind-the-back as well as no-look. She rebounds, on both ends and plays defense
