The Candice Dupree Invitational was held at the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Complex in Wesley Chapel over Mother's Day weekend. The event hosted over 125 teams and was sold out. Here are a few players that stood out.

Francine Garilus 2026 PF 6'2" Edgewate/TNBA

The post from West Orlando can flat out play. Making smooth reverse lay ups to tough finishes at the basket with two defenders draped all over her. Garilus is a young player that plays with a high level of confidence and well beyond her years. If she can add a consistent outside jump shot to her arsenal, she will be even more deadly.

[player_tooltip player_id='247154' first='Yakiya' last='Milton'] 2023 PF 6'4" Mandarin/SEU Clarke

Milton is a strong post from North East Florida. She passes very well for her position, seeing the floor and being aware of where her teammates are. She shows a good ability to get to the basket. Milton can hit the knock down jump shot when open.

[player_tooltip player_id='647742' first='Kassandra' last='Cortez'] 2025 SG 5'4" Haines City/OBC

Cortez is a crafty guard that gets to the basket whenever she wants to. A knock down shooter that can hit the open shot along with pulling up off the dribble. A smooth guard that handles the ball well in transition, making the right play to finish. A very tough defender that locks up her opponent and doesn't allow her opponent to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='516186' first='Makayla' last='Stokes'] 2024 PF 6'0" Mastering All Basketball

Stokes is a good defender that anticipates where the ball where will be and puts herself in the correct position to block the shot or get deflections. Along with playing good defense, she is very aggressive in the paint, grabbing offensive rebounds and getting put backs. Stokes can hit the outside shot, and the three ball.

Jasmine Carter 2024 PG 5'5" Eau Gallie HS/Space Coast Fury

Carter is a smart point guard that can get to the basket finishing with either hand through the contact. She can shot the outside jump shot with a consistent stroke. A creative PG that can get her teammates involved in the game. Look forward to watching this kid throughout the summer.
