Gray Leads the Way for Lady Falcons:
Terriana Gray Terriana Gray 5'9" | SF A.C. Flora | 2024 State SC is a senior this coming season for the A.C. Flora Lady Falcons. Gray really showed some flashes of great hustle hear today and getting to the cup and finishing with her left-hand on a consistent basis. She really likes the ball in her hands at times excels in transition to the cup. Terriana connected on a few short jumpers here today. She really has good length to play active in the passing lanes and pick up several deflections.
Lady Falcons Have More Talent on Roster:
Emory Curnell Emory Curnell 5'6" | SF A.C. Flora | 2024 State SC , Madison Mickens Madison Mickens 5'9" | SF A.C. Flora | 2025 State SC , Tamira Delaney Tamira Delaney 5'8" | SF A.C. Flora | 2026 State SC and Skylar McCray Skylar McCray 5'7" | SG A.C. Flora | 2026 State SC all at some time this season will provide a spark for the Lady Falcons. These players make up the starting line-up with Gray as the 5th member.
Curnell is a physical guard who really looks to settle for the short mid-range jumper. Emory has no problems drawing up some contact along the way.
Mickens was able to leak out in transition today for some cheapies in transition. Madison was able to collect some loose change and capitalize around the bucket today. She has a good nose for the ball, and it puts her in position to make a play every time.
Delaney a left-handed forward and McCray will both be in the sophomore class this fall for the Lady Falcons. McCray was able to get downhill at times today when she wasn’t looking to pop from downtown. This duo will certainly be the future of the program down the road for Head Coach Jacob Thompson.
Lady Red Foxes Will Rely on Seniors:
Jasmine Frierson Jasmine Frierson 5'6" | CG Hartsville | 2024 State SC and Tatiana Fisher Tatiana Fisher 5'11" | PF Hartsville | 2024 State SC will need to have some big seasons for the Hartsville HS Lady Red Foxes to make a move in Class 4A. Frierson a guard likes to score the ball from the backcourt started to show some more point guard skills here today. Jasmine has a knack to score the ball but probably at the next level will play on the ball more as a traditional point guard. Jasmine was able to finish some short jumpers and floaters here today. She did leave some quality passes to her teammates on some penetrates-kicks to the bucket.
Fisher played well again here today with her very nimble feet around the paint. Tatiana decided not to play Grassroots ball this past spring and she has really came back better than ever in my opinion. Whatever she is doing it’s clearly working around the paint. She’s finishing around the cup at a high clip and running the floor and clearing out the lane in the in the process. Fisher thrives on playing the game on contact.
These two ladies will have to provide the punch and the scoring every night for the Lady Red Foxes and Head Coach Justin Johnson this coming season.
Holmes back to Lead Lady Stallions:
Mykeriyah Holmes Mykeriyah Holmes 6'0" | C Lee Central | 2026 State SC will have to pick up her game this season for the Lee Central HS Lady Stallions. Holmes a post player is just going to be a sophomore. My’Keriyah is the daughter of legendary Stallions player Mike Holmes and the niece of Head Coach Patrice Holmes. She really has good hands and a willingness to play on contact. My’Keriyah will play physical and on contact down low on the block. The Lady Stallions lost Natalie Pitts Natalie Pitts 5'8" | SF Trinity Collegiate | 2025 State SC this off season do to transferring out.
Lady Bears Taking on All Classes:
Head Coach Logan Kingsbury and his Carvers Bay HS program is a Class 1A program. That really doesn’t matter to him at all. His team has played up all some summer long and taken on all challengers regardless of classification. Today the Lady Bears played A.C. Flora and Butler HS (Augusta, GA).
Jurnee Blye Jurnee Blye 5'11" | PF Carvers Bay | 2027 State SC just an incoming freshman for the Lady Bears played outstanding today for her team and her age. Blye was relentless and aggressive all day long with her play around the paint. She played the game VOCAL and showed leadership on the floor as an incoming freshman. Jurnee was running the floor every time and never took a possession off while in the game. Prep Girls Hoops first saw her play as an 8th grader in middle school and really liked her potential. She finished buckets and better yet rebounded the ball outside of her position at times.
Alana Morris Alana Morris 5'2" | PG Carvers Bay | 2025 State SC certainly doesn’t let her size bother her while on the floor. Morris is a water-bug point guard who was able to drop a few floaters and jumpers here today for the Lady Bears. Alana is a member of the 2025 Palmetto State Class.
The Lady Bears were still missing a few pieces here today but certainly played with plenty of fire and heart. They had recently attended the University of Tennessee Camp in Knoxville and Coker University in Hartsville and played bigger classifications in each event.
The tall task in the Lower State in Class 1A is still Military Magnet – the defending 3-time state champions. Kudos to Head Coach Logan Kingsbury and his girls to playing all competitors and remembering it’s summer basketball and nobody counts their record.
