College Camp Notes: Valdosta State University

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the past month, we have had the opportunity to attend a few basketball camps in the Southeast: Daytona State College Camp , The FABC Summer Team Camp 2023, and Valdosta State University Elite Summer Camp. In this article we look at some of the standouts and participants at the Valdosta State University Camp. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Valdosta State Camp Notes.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prospects from the State of Florida were in the buiding. Here are the 2024 players from the Sunshine State who I laid eyes on at the camp. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248348' first='Riley' last='Talbert'] really looked good at camp. She is a high IQ player with the ability to score from behind the arc and on the inside. Talbert is a great decision maker on the court and checks a lot of boxes in a lot of areas on the court. The multi talented Talbert now has another decision to make. She has received an offer from Valdosta State University </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248298' first='Alana' last='Seward'] played well at camp and really got after it in the open court. She went Coast to Coast several times and really looked quick on the courts. Seward showed the versatile game - getting to the rim on a regular basis and also shooting the long range three. Seward is at her best when the game is on the line. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248303' first='Jasmine' last='Bocca'] looked good at the Valdosta State Camp. As usual she was a floor general on the courts, putting players on the right position and making some nice pinpoint passes. One play that comes to mind was hitting a player cutting to the basket from just over half court. Bocca has the court vision and the basketball IQ that makes her special on the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248347' first='Nina' last='Green'] looked good at the camp. Green was in attack mode and was determined to get to the rim or step back for the short jumper. Green also put the pressure on the ball and showed her skills on both sides of the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='426338' first='Kaitlynn' last='Weaver'] made her presence felt at the camp especially on defense. She drew a tough assignment and if there is one thing that Weaver has shown, it's that she can play some defense againgst very talented and skilled players. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248291' first='Kennedy' last='Rosendahl'] continued to play well at the VSU Camp and continued to turn some heads. Rosendahl is a sharp shooter and showed a lot of her other skills at the camp, including ball handling rebounding, defending, and creating scoring opportunities for herself and for others. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
