This will be the first time these rankings have been updated in a few years so expect some big changes coming as some players have evolved their games to new heights. Until then, I will be making some articles here and there on players to know from each class, as we move closer to the start of the season in November.
Here are some players out of the 2027 class to keep an eye on. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Kendyl Davis Kendyl Davis 5'9" | CG Westside | 2027 NE – 2027 – Elkhorn North High School
Kendyl Davis Kendyl Davis 5'9" | CG Westside | 2027 NE comes into high school with some promise to her game and a whole lot of confidence. This winter at Elkhorn North high school Davis is going to look to try and make an impact right away on the floor. She is a player who stays down defensive, has great balance when attacking the hoop, and can hold her own against other physical players. There maybe a little time for Davis to get her confidence against varsity level competition but I think by the end of the season, she is going to be a player at least on that bunch for her absolutely STACKED high school team.
Addison Medeck Addison Medeck 6'2" | PF Papillion LV South | 2027 NE – 2027 – Papillion-La Vista South High School
Addison Medeck Addison Medeck 6'2" | PF Papillion LV South | 2027 NE is going to come into high school and see the varsity floor her freshman year a good amount. Medeck stands at 6’2 and is dominate in the post against her competition. She has size, strength, and smarts when it comes to her post play. She rebounds over most, even against other opponents that are alike in size to herself, and fights through contact. Not to mention that she is solid with her back to the basket and can score going either way, over either shoulder. With everything that Medeck brings to the court, she is going to be making a lasting impact over the next 4 years at Papillion – La Vista South high school.
Rowan Swartz Rowan Swartz 5'7" | SG Elkhorn South | 2027 NE – 2027 – Elkhorn South High School
Rowan Swartz Rowan Swartz 5'7" | SG Elkhorn South | 2027 NE would be defined as a shooter in a lot of aspect but I think she is more than that. Swartz is a guard who can come in, control the pace of a game for her team, and bring some positivity to the floor while doing it. This upcoming winter at Elkhorn South high school I’m not sure that Swartz is going to be varsity ready right away, as I’m not too familiar with their returning roster, but if she works hard and trains on the right things in attempts to continue to grow her game, she is going to turn into one of the better guards in the state before the end of her high school career. It may take some time, but I think Swartz can put it together and become a special player over time.
Leah Robinson Leah Robinson 5'8" | SG Elkhorn North | 2027 NE – 2027 – Elkhorn North High School
Leah Robinson Leah Robinson 5'8" | SG Elkhorn North | 2027 NE is a promising young athlete that will be attending Elkhorn North high school for her freshman year, this upcoming fall. Robinson is an individual who is going to have to work her way up in this program, but with that being said, she can play. This program is really well put together with some experienced players at the top. Robinson is a mixed bag. A player that has length, speed, and good guard skill with the ball in her hands. As she gets older and she starts to expand her game, while growing in confidence and physically overall, she could become a handful. I’ll be in attendance this winter to see this team play. I’m excited to see what Robinson can really do.
Sophia Lindsey – 2027 – Gretna East High School
Sophia Lindsey sets herself apart from others in her class because of the mental game she possesses. Lindsey displays that she understands most situations that are unfolding on the court in front of her and because of that, she is very successful. She knows where her teammates are going to be, understands her ability on both sides of the ball, and is a leader in every aspect of the word. She isn’t the tallest player but fights down low with bigger opponents on a consistent basis, while holding her own. I’m expecting some fireworks out of Lindsey on the varsity floor at some point this season but only time will tell. Even if she doesn’t start or see the varsity floor much this season, she is going to be a player to know moving forward throughout the state of Nebraska these next few years.
