There will be standout talent from our state, Minnesota, Iowa, and the Dakotas, with all the top pools going directly into bracket play in a 16-team tournament. Let’s discuss some kids to watch if you’ll be in the Twin Cities this week, starting with some outstanding Midwest kids, including a few Wisconsin kids to watch.
Alyvia Padgett Alyvia Padgett 5'7" | PG Brandon Valley | 2026 State SD
The first time I saw Padgett play was at St. Thomas’ elite camp a year ago. I remember how under control she was and how much poise she brought to the lead guard spot. She sees the floor well, and if I remember correctly, she has the velocity to fire passes cross-court in half-court offenses and can the ball to the opposite corner with plenty of time to get her shooters catch-and-shoot opportunities.
Audrey Meudt Audrey Meudt 5'10" | CG Waunakee | 2026 State WI
Meudt has been a lead guard for a while, and every time I watch her these days, I wonder if that’s the spot she’ll excel in the most or if she should be a secondary playmaker as a wing. That said, whenever I’m in one corner or the other on that, she’ll do something that makes me think the opposite. Regardless, she’s got the length that can cause some frustration for opposing teams and could surprise some teams.
Katelyn Odem Katelyn Odem 5'8" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI
There’s nobody who plays as desperately as Odem does. She’s willing to do anything that will help her team get extra possession and to help her team win. She’s physical and the first kid on the floor to go after every loose ball. I talk about her effort a lot, but her skill is there. She can initiate the offense, knock down perimeter jumpers, and is willing to attack the rim and get to the free-throw line. She’s an excellent complimentary player to other outstanding players, and everyone would love her on their team.
I don’t think I’ve seen a better pure shooter than Emilee Fox Emilee Fox 5'8" | CG Mt.Vernon/Plankinton | 2024 State SD . She is committed to South Dakota State, but watching her shoot the ball is one of my favorite things to witness in AAU. I saw her play about five times last season, and conservatively I believe she made at least four three-pointers in each game. I’m eager to watch her and her Samford Sports team play and see if they can surprise some people in Shakopee.
