Summer Rankings: 2028 New Additions Part 1

Take a look at 6 new additions to the 2028 draft class. These girls were key contributors for their high school teams and showed me a ton of potential.   <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/dakotas/rankings/north-dakota-rankings/2028-rankings/">FULL 2028 RANKINGS - CLICK ME!</a>    The Roney name has been a staple in the Shanley basketball community for many years.  Claire's older sister was a standout player and is currently playing college basketball at Concordia College.  Claire is a great utility player and can fit into multiple roles on the court depending on the situations each game presents.  I appreciate how hard she plays and that she isn't afraid to making winning plays that might not necessarily make their way into the stat book.  She makes good decisions in crunch time and often plays at the end of the game due to her ability to play without making many mistakes.  She is an excellent defender and is really hard to screen.  She is a good cutter on offense, particularly when the ball is on the block.  The Roney family just might have another college basketball player in the family.     Burke is a nice prospect with a good frame at 6'.  She has long arms that are disruptive defensively and allow her to snag rebounds over opponents.  She does a great job of ‘ripping' and ‘chinning' the basketball on rebounds, making it very difficult for opposing players to grab the ball from her.  She has a soft touch around the basket and can finish in traffic.  Emily has a future on the All-District and All-Region teams.     Merit got into nearly all of Shanley's varsity games in 2025-2026. She is going to have an opportunity for a bigger role next season with the graduation of high volume senior post players. Hanson brings an impressive frame to the floor and has the physical tools to be a quality player in the EDC. She is faster than a lot of players who play her position and she can utilize that speed and athleticism to get easy baskets in transition. Her length and strength give her the ability to rebound the ball at a high rate. Merit is finishing up her summer AAU season for [program_tooltip program_id='1246823' first='Sanford' last='Sports Academy'], showing a commitment and desire to improve. I expect her to take quite the leap next season for the Deacons.     Salil is a good player for the Wolves and will be key for them to get back to the state tournament in 2026-2027. She has a strong base and has great balance on the court. She can attack closeouts and draw a secondary defender then make the dump-off pass to a teammate for an easy bucket. Shoemaker plays off of two feet, allowing her time to make the right decision with the ball. She keeps her feet set on threes and has a nice lift to her shot.     Bohn is part of a talented 2028 Watford City class that has already seen a lot of success in their careers.  She has potential to earn herself a spot on the All-Region team in the next two years and to help the Wolves back to the state tournament in 2026-2027.  She is a very quick guard who can play on the ball or off of it.  When she has the ball, it is a lot of fun to watch her dribble past opponents for scoring opportunities at the basket.  She has a very tight handle and keeps the ball on a string.     Feist is a prospect that has a ton of potential due to her 6'1 frame, long arms, and running ability.  She is raw in some areas of her game, but could become a force with a little bit of polish on the offensive end.  She is beginning to learn how to use her size and strength to seal opponents up the lane.  She has decent hands and can catch passes around the basket.  She is already a tough defender, plugging up driving lanes and blocking shots.  She pursues rebounds and keeps possessions alive.
