Kendall McDaniel Kendall McDaniel 6’0″ | C Valley | 2024 State IA starts off our Top 5 countdown in the #5 spot for the 2024 class, out of the state of Iowa. McDaniel is a 6’1 center with a strong presence when she is near the basket. She understands how to rim-run down the floor better than most, usually ending in an easy bucket for herself or another open teammate. I think you could even consider McDaniel a power forward with her ability to spread the floor and catch on the perimeter at times. Being in the Top 5, going into your last live period in July before your senior year is no joke. I’m sure she is going to continue to shine with her Pure Prep team these next few weeks, going into the season this winter at Indianola high school.

#4. Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA – Bishop Heelan High School
Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5’8″ | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA was one of the best point guards that I saw play last season during the high school year. Going into this winter I expect the same thing from Stanley, as she will try to take her Bishop Heelan high school team back to the state tournament in Des Moines. Stanley is a shifty point guard who can score. She has an aggressive attack on the offensive side of things while always being calculated at the same time. She is definitely an elite scoring point guard compared to the competition around her. Defensively, she works just as hard and sticks to her opponent like glue. She is a player you can tell to pick up in the full court for a full game and she would do just fine. I’m excited to see what she can do over the next few months. With her skill, a lot is possible.

#3. Elise Jaeger Elise Jaeger 6'1" | PF Valley | 2024 State IA – Des Moines Valley High School
Elise Jaeger Elise Jaeger 6’1″ | PF Valley | 2024 State IA is a forward with great size and athleticism. She plays her position well and understands everything that is going on around her. Her speed and motor are impressive to say the least, with a nice bit of physicality to throw in there as well. This spring Jaeger has received an offer from Eastern Illinois, as well as receiving interest from a few others colleges. I think that this July the offers are going to start flying in for her though. A player with her size, speed, and skill are a commodity at any level. Coaches are going to start to see that more and more as time goes on.
Offers: Eastern Illinois, St. Thomas, Drake, UNI, NIU
#2. Callie Levin Callie Levin 5'10" | PG Solon | 2024 State IA – Solon High School
Callie Levin Callie Levin 5’10” | PG Solon | 2024 State IA last season helped lead the Solon Spartans to the state tournament for the first time in 15+ years. This season she is going to attempt to do the same thing with basically her entire team returning. Levin is a 5’10 point guard who has been committed to the University of Iowa since she was a freshman in high school. Over the years she has shown steady progress, as well as expansion of her game, in several different category’s on both sides of the ball. With this being her last high school season I’m sure Levin is all in and will do whatever it takes to see her teammates succeed. Something I can’t wait to watch.

#1. Aili Tanke Aili Tanke 6'0" | SG Johnston | 2024 State IA – Johnston High School
Aili Tanke Aili Tanke 6’0″ | SG Johnston | 2024 State IA stands on top of this list as the #1 player in the 2024 class out of Iowa. Tanke, the Iowa State women’s basketball commit, is going to produce at Iowa State. A player that can do basically anything asked of her right now on the floor at the high school level. She is fantastic at shooting the ball from all three levels, she can work from the mid-post from 15 FT and in, and she can score with her back to the basket consistently. Defensively, she is big yet athletic enough to stay in the post and guard a forward or switch on a guard in a pick-and-roll situation. I’m not sure what exact position she will play in college but whatever it is, she is going to be successful.
