We saw talent from across the state come together to compete. Here are some of the rising senior standouts from the event.
Kierra Morrow Kierra Morrow 5’10” | SF Cannon | 2024 State NC was strong on the block using power dribbles to get points off the glass, and she rebounded well on both ends of the court. She had a nice shot fake at the top of the key getting by her defender and scoring some points easily. Her ability to flash across the court was certainly a struggle for her opponents to keep up with.
Taniya Cash
Taniya Cash
Taniya Cash was dominate in the paint blocking shots and getting stops. She tracked the ball well knowing how to make her play on the ball without getting the foul. She had some nice post moves on the block using power dribbles to get into position, turning to face the basket, and scoring some points.
Janiah Shular Janiah Shular 6’0″ | SF 1 of 1 Prep | 2024 NC got the scoring started for her team attacking the basket on a fast break after catching the pass up the court. She does a nice job being the passer, too, hitting her teammate in stride as she cuts to the hoop. She was constantly getting her hands in the way disrupting passes. She showed off her range shooting the ball, too.
Deana Prasad Deana Prasad 5’8″ | PG Green Level | 2024 NC attacked the basket finishing on both sides of the rim. She was constantly pushing the ball up the court scoring on fast breaks whether she was handling the ball all the way or catching the pass and scoring right away. She also showed off her range knocking down her shot around the perimeter.
Krystal Haddock Krystal Haddock 5’10” | CG NC GBB | 2024 State NC was not backing down from anyone attacking the basket making old fashioned three point plays. She was doing a great job evaluating what the defense was giving her attacking the basket and knowing when to make the dish. She kept her opponent in front of her while she was on defense making sure they didn’t see an easy basket. This was against the opposing team’s best player, too.
Khloe Miller Khloe Miller 6’2″ | SF NC GBB | 2024 State NC had a nice play catching the pass her opponent was trying to bounce off her and thinking quickly enough to throw a dribble in attacking the baseline. She does a nice job getting the pass around the perimeter and seeing her teammate flashing in the paint to make the pass to her. Her ability to elevate over her opponents is certainly an asset on both ends of the court as she scores and rebounds well.
Madison Pounds Madison Pounds 5’10” | PG NC GBB | 2024 State NC was excellent attacking the basket and battling through contact for the finish. She didn’t back down from knocking the ball away from opponents trying to drive by her. She doesn’t hesitate to dive on the floor getting the loose balls either finding ways to secure the possession for her team.
