Urbana Shootout- Underclassmen to Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The talent in Ohio continues to be among in the country with a new wave of players making a name for themselves this summer. The Urbana Shootout showcased several younger players who showed skills and a positive future as they competed with their teams in the event last weekend. Here are some of the 2026 &amp; 2027 players who played well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Sidney Cutler - Fairbanks 2027</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For a freshman, she is a nice vocal player on the court. Long and athletic and learning the varsity game. Seems pretty mechanical, which is good for someone of her young age, she will continue to improve as the game speed becomes more natural. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Rivers Lempke - Germantown Valley View 2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":672364,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/tempImagegYM8rR-rotated-crop-2757x1811-1686788026.jpg?w=800" alt="" class="wp-image-672364" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Does a really good job in the outlet, pushes in transition with good hands and good court vision. Her game has improved since last year and she takes on more of a leadership role this season. One thing she impressed with me with was her good court vision. Defensively  does a good job on ball. Handles are solid and she should provide some solid backcourt play this season. Has a good sense of where to be on the court. She has good swag, moves well without the ball and can let it fly from behind the arc. She is one of the key sophomores in the area and is among the top two of her conference. Quick hands and solid on-ball defender. Just makes plays happen. Gets to play with her sister, Ohio D3 POY [player_tooltip player_id='217339' first='Corri' last='Vermilya'] and will learn along the way. Solid shooter, can comes off the screen well and has good handles. Still learning the varsity game but as the season progresses, so will her contributions. She is the returning leading scorer and is able to help her team in multiple ways. Vocal player.  Showed some range with a midrange game. MP is on their way up over the next few years and it all starts now.
