There's nothing like watching players that can change the course of a game and you can define them with several names yet I'm choosing takeover and here are some from opening day

[player_tooltip player_id='802548' first='Jahnae' last='Nickerson']-5'7 CG (Cy Fair Premier 16U) 2026

Nickerson has taken her game from good to very good and here's a heads up, she's on the verge of taking it even higher. She's explosive off the dribble, in the set, and in the open court, and her ability to finish after contact has gone to another level. Her court vision gives her options as she sets her teammates up for good shots and her mid to long-range jumper is also a problem to defend

[player_tooltip player_id='385702' first='Andrea' last='Sturdivant']-5'8 PG (Cy Fair Premier 2025 National) 2025

Sturdivant can change the complexion of a game, from both ends, and being a guard that's able to do that places her on a very short list. Her baseline-to-baseline pressure creates turnovers yet her quick hands and playing the passing lane enable her to come away with steals and when you factor in her "speed with the ball" those are points going the other way for her team. She can shoot, mid to long range and score off the dribble

[player_tooltip player_id='307762' first='Sadie' last='Sanchez']-5'4 PG (2024 [program_tooltip program_id='712536' first='Hoop' last='10'] United Nike) 2025

Sanchez falls into that"nightmare to defend" category and when she's not only doubled but tripled-teamed, her ability to see the floor as well as make blistering passes in traffic gets her team easy looks yet look at this. She handles the ball like a yo-yo, I'm having a flashback of the "Rock the Baby" Duncan commercial, Google it, yet also Google that I called her a #D1Lock several years ago, and her unlimited range and acrobatic finishes spoke volumes

[player_tooltip player_id='158860' first='Mariah' last='Houston']-5'5 CG (2024 [program_tooltip program_id='712785' first='Rock' last='Nation']) 2024

Houston sets the defender up with a variety of moves and fakes to get them off balance yet her deceptive first step caught my eye before she was in high school as she used it effortlessly and in the flow and speaking of flowing, her mid to long-range in the set, her stop and pop in transition along with her "catch and shoot" under pressure cand all change the momentum because she scores in droves

Rhylei Hendrick-5'7SG (TSF 17U Black) 2024

Hendrick was going to be on my NEW FACES list yet her new high school coach had sent me a variety of videos so I kind of had a picture. She's a long and athletic guard that can blow by the defender to score yet she also appears to defy gravity as I drank from my water bottle and placed the cap back on before she came down on one of her finishes. Now that I have your attention, she also scores from outside and plays solid on the ball defense

[player_tooltip player_id='401723' first='Audrey' last='Cline']-5'7 SG ([program_tooltip program_id='715690' first='DC' last='Queens'] Black 2024) 2024

Cline scored so many ways that my orange highlighter ran out of ink, yet watching her knock down jumpers with a hand in her face over and over is embedded in my memory. I also love her progression on the court as she has taken her game to different levels since I first caught her maybe in elementary school but in the clutch, she wants the ball and she delivers
