2024 Guards – Playmakers at Run 4 Roses

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2024 class provided some great moments at Run 4 Roses Classic and Championship. We walked the gym and logged not just steps, but miles. There were numerous 2024 guards in the building and PGH Florida stopped by the courts to see how they were playing. In this article, we look at some of the 2024 guards who made plays during the Run 4 Roses Classic and Championship. Moreover, we highlight the 2024 "playmakers" at Run 4 Roses. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='221699' first='Kennedy' last='McClain'] showed up at the Rose Tournaments in a big way. She was an aggressive shooter who shot the three ball very well. McClain also got to the rim throughout the tournament. McClain showed the versatility to play the 2, 3, and 4 positions. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='426382' first='Sophia' last='Toscano'] left a great impression at Run 4 Roses. She had a lot of versatility in her game. She was an aggressive three-point shooter who could also shoot the floater on the baseline and in the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='426336' first='Natalie' last='Allen'] is one of the most prolific three-point shooters in the 2024 class. At the Rose tournaments, Allen connected on some threes and was very disciplined on the court. She was a very selfless player who was all about the team and shared the rock with other good shooters. Don't get it twisted though. Allen is lethal out there on the court and can string up an array of threes in a hurry. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='495946' first='Claire' last='Coogan'] is the epitome of hard work and perseverance. She put the pedal to the medal and balled out at the Rose tournaments. Coogan was a playmaker who showed great energy, and did a great job of pushing the ball up the court and dishing to teammates for open shots. Coogan played very well and has received several offers since the Run 4 Roses tournaments. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='349438' first='Piera' last='Alexander'] really played well at the Run for Rose tournaments. Alexander had one game where she was really clutch down the stretch, scoring in bunches with the floater, the three-point shot, and in the pull-up game in the midrange area. Alexander also got to the rim. Alexander finished the game with 16 points. In addition to getting the ball in the basket, Alexander also ran the show and was a playmaker for her teammates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='349385' first='Jadah' last='Toombs'] had some nice plays at Run 4 Roses. In one segment of a game, Toombs connected on a nice midrange shot. Toombs handled the ball well, played great defense, and got some steals. In one game the seasoned guard created a steal and went coast to coast for the layup. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248298' first='Alana' last='Seward'] showed the versatile game at Run 4 Roses. She can shoot the three and also get to the rim. Defensively, Seward was quick to get to loose balls. She was a standout in the transition and on one play the speedy guard too it coast to coast. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248347' first='Nina' last='Green'] had some nice plays out on the court and was very competitive. Green showed some nice handles. On one play, she went coast to coast and finished with the left hand. Green has quickness on both ends of the court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='223783' first='Jade' last='Thompson'] really played well in Run 4 Roses and showcased her versatile game. She had really good handles, good court awareness, and made some nice passes on the court. A few of the passes were in tight windows. Thompson can also get to the rim and has a very fast first step.
