Today we take a look at few athletes we were able to check out that helped their recruitment, solidified their spot nationally, or have the coaches of the schools they are committed to even more excited.
Addison Bjorn was one of the most impressive athletes I got a chance to watch over the weekend. Impeccable feel for the game, vision is elite for her size and position. She continuously draws extra defenders and always makes the right pass or read. Dangerous in transition with or without the ball in her hands , natural rim protector , and steady on boards. She guarded 1-5 and showed an ability to score it from all three levels on the court with efficiency. Can easily average a triple double with the way she impacts the game and doesn’t have to score to get her team in position to win.
Highlights
Maddie made her impact felt in the 3SSB 16u Championship game with her effort defensively and the way she shot the ball. Efficient off the catch and relocates well as the ball moves . Capable ball handler , she gives whatever the team needs in that moment. Displayed playmaking ability and toughness when it counted.
Highlights
Caliyah was pivotal in Elevate Elite championship run at 3SSB. The point guard plays bigger than her size, doesn’t back down from a challenge, and willed her team to a 16u championship. Quick with the ball, she knows how to take contact, and finish at the rim. She stretched the floor and shot it well off the bounce. She buys into the defensive end of the floor and can disrupt the others team offense with how well she moves her feet and reacts to the ball. She created for others, but when it was time to take over in the final moments she stepped up and got the job done. A MVP performance to say the least.
Leonna is reliable floor general who does a good job at finding the mismatch on the floor. She attacked off the dribble well and made good quick decisions. Loved her defense she displayed, she was in gaps, helped on time, and played the passing lanes against a well balanced team. She was vocal and found ways to get her teammates going, putting them in position to be successful. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her ranking nationally continue to improve.
Sienna is a true low post threat that puts continuous pressure on the defense and is one of the best in the country to do so. A willing passer out of the post, she exploits double teams and gets her team involved finding cutters and shooters spotting up. She lives at the free throw line and shot it at a good percentage. Strong going left she is capable of finishing through contact on either side of the rim, she can step out to the high post and make plays as well. She provides consistent rim protection and did a good job in the championship game altering shots. She was a strong force on both ends and I look to be hearing a lot about her in the future.
Gianna made timely bucket after timely bucket. She came up big during possessions when her team needed it by executing her role, valuing possessions, and making the right decisions with the ball whether it was scoring or moving the ball. Gianna made some big shots from outside and found opportunities to cut and get easy ones at the rim.
Averi had her work cut out for her in the 3SSB 17u Championship game. As one of the main post defenders she did a good job forcing tough shots and rebounding. She is active on both ends of the floor and a reliable floor spacer and cutter. Louisiana Tech is getting someone who is versatile on both ends of the floor and not afraid to compete.
