Kentuckiana Hoops put together their 1st girls camp on Saturday and it brought in a lot of really talented players from all over. While the majority of the participants were from Kentucky, most of the players were ones I had not yet gotten to see play prior to Saturday. Below, we will look at class of 2026 standouts from the 2023 Kentuckiana Hoops girls camp. Note: Usually my standout articles do not include every player that participates in the event, but every single player in attendance caught my eye at one point or another, so this will be a series of articles that discuss what stood out to me this weekend.
Class of 2024
I tried to include all of the 2024 and 2025 players in part one of this series, but I realized too late that I had the incorrect info down for Kaylee Gibson, so wanted to include the correct info below.
Kaylee Gibson (5’5 | Guard | Knott County Central)
Gibson’s defense really stood out to me on Saturday. She was able to apply a ton of pressure and consistently made things tough on the offense. She also was always in great help defense positions and stayed ready to step over if help was needed. Very active hands and just active in general. She was always right there on rebounds. Gibson’s movement without the ball also stood out. She was constantly moving and working to get open or to create good spacing.
Class of 2026
Tabor Boggs Tabor Boggs 5'7" | SG Atherton | 2026 KY (5’8 | Guard | Atherton)
Boggs was very solid from start to finish. The lefty is a good shooter and she catches ready to fire. Quick release allowed her to get her shot off even with a defender running at her. Hard cuts really caught my eye and were effective in forcing the defense to make decisions. She played with a high motor and also showed an ability to make tough drives to the hoop.
Kat Cummins Kat Cummins 5'10" | CG Sacred Heart | 2026 State KY (5’10 | Guard | Sacred Heart)
Cummins is the kind of player every coach would love to have. Works extremely hard and is very fundamentally sound. She continuously made the right play in drills and live game action. Finished in a variety of different ways, including extending her arms to get the ball past her defender around the basket. She has a nice high release on her shot which kept her shots from being blocked or altered by the defense. She did a great job utilizing both sides of the rim as well.
Lilly Lyvers (5’5 | Guard | Elizabethtown)
Lyvers consistently jumped out to me throughout the drills and that carried over into live game action. She was really making an impact on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she made great reads and moved her feet well to stay in front of whoever she was guarding. Offensively, she was scoring at all 3 levels. Good shooter with a quick release. Good touch on her floaters. Strong moves with the ball and a very effective spin move. Did a great job using her body to keep separation from her defender. Definitely going to be watching to see how her role increases this high school season because the potential is definitely there.
Natalya Pitts Natalya Pitts 5'5" | PG Moore | 2026 State KY (5’5 | Guard | Marion C Moore)
Pitts’ speed and athleticism were impossible not to notice. She’s quicker with the ball than a lot of players are without the ball in their hands. She uses her athleticism well to recover defensively and get unexpected blocks. Used her speed to get to the rim, but also made great passes out of her drives. She also showed an ability to knock down shots, forcing the defense to make tough decisions on how to guard her.
Laci Tackett (5’7 | Guard | Augusta Independent)
Tackett is another player that caught my eye on both ends of the court. Defensively, she stayed active and was able to constantly get her hands on the ball. Offensively, she showed she can handle the ball well and made excellent, strong passes both in transition and in halfcourt sets. She’s a strong shooter and can knock 3’s down with good range. She did a great job finding and attacking gaps. Really remained solid throughout the day. Her hustle plays definitely did not go unnoticed as well.
