Players We're Excited to See at the Freshman Showcase

The Prep Girls Hoops Kentucky Freshman Showcase will take place next weekend in Louisville at MidAmerica Sports Center East from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event provides a tremendous opportunity for incoming freshmen to gain exposure, be evaluated by our scouts, compete against some of the top players in the state's Class of 2030, and potentially raise their stock ahead of the initial 2030 rankings. Here are a few of the prospects who have already secured their spot and that we're eager to see in action.    Baylee put together a very solid eighth-grade season at Nelson County, averaging 6.5 points per game while shooting 33.3% from three-point range. She's a highly skilled guard and a lethal shooter from deep. Baylee will begin her high school career at Bardstown and already holds a D1 offer from Bellarmine University.     Another talented Class of 2030 prospect representing the 5th Region is [player_tooltip player_id='1304352' first='Evelyn' last='Ehringer']. She finished her eighth-grade season as her team's third-leading scorer, averaging 8.5 points per game, while also pulling down 3.5 rebounds per game. She impacts the game in many ways and competes hard on both ends of the floor.     Mercy Academy has one of the top guard prospects in Kentucky's Class of 2030 in [player_tooltip player_id='1276179' first='Scarlett' last='Thauberger']. A shifty playmaking guard, Scarlett provided instant offense and has the ability to get a bucket from anywhere on the floor. She's poised for a breakout freshman campaign and is one of the prospects we're most excited to watch at the Freshman Showcase.     One of the bright young stars in the 16th Region is [player_tooltip player_id='1311382' first='Kenley' last='Kouns']. She averaged 10.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while serving as a key contributor for Russell last season. Kenley has good size, the versatility to play multiple positions. She rebounds at a high level and is a threat to score from the inside-out.     Bowling Green has several talented Class of 2030 prospects who will be attending the Freshman Showcase, and one of them is [player_tooltip player_id='1037426' first='Leighton' last='Boler']. A strong, athletic post player with developing perimeter skills, Leighton can finish around the basket, knock down short jumpers, and score around the rim. Defensively, she's a solid interior presence who protects the paint and has quick enough feet to switch onto guards.
