Team Curry Duo:
Ni’yonna Asbelle Ni’yonna Asbelle 5'11" | SF Andrew Jackson | 2026 State SC and AVA RUSH AVA RUSH 6'2" | SF First Baptist | 2026 State SC both came up big today with their play in a game against Crown Academy. Asbelle tied the game at 61-61 in regulation to force sudden death and from there won the game in extra time. Ni’Yonna was great in getting to the cup and attacking the basket all day long today for Team Curry 15U. She was able to jump the passing lanes here today several times and pickup steals heading the opposite way in transition.
Asbelle was able to finish some short mid-range jumpers here at times today despite launching a three-point to tie the game in regulation. Ni’Yonna is truly a 3-level score who attends Andrew Jackson HS in Kershaw.
Rush a long and agile wing player was able to knockdown the three-ball here today for Team Curry 15U. Ava who now attends First Baptist in downtown Charleston played last season at Oceanside Collegiate Academy. Rush has good length and the willingness to get open on the floor. She does all of her work out on the perimeter and feels most comfortable playing face-up to the basket at all times.
This Palmetto State duo is just part of the 2026 South Carolina girls’ class that should see plenty of attention in the years to come the road.
Palmetto State Seniors in Attendance:
Mila Holloway Mila Holloway 5'9" | PG Legacy Early College | 2024 State SC , Yannah Seaberry Yannah Seaberry 5'6" | CG First Baptist | 2024 State SC , Dianna Blake Dianna Blake 6'1" | PF Ashley Ridge | 2024 State SC , Morgan Jones Morgan Jones 5'6" | SG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC , Maddy Hawes Maddy Hawes 5'11" | PF First Baptist | 2024 State SC and Alyssa Causey Alyssa Causey 5'10" | PF Wando | 2024 State SC all were in attendance this past weekend in Concord, NC at the LBI Summer Showcase.
Holloway who attends Legacy Early College is originally from the Charlotte area. Mila is crafty with the ball when it comes to finding the open teammate or getting to the cup. She was able to settle for a few jumpers today to keep the defenders honest. Mila is constantly in position to make a play going to the rack or simply setting up shop from out top.
Seaberry and her teammate Maddy Hawes Maddy Hawes 5'11" | PF First Baptist | 2024 State SC both play at First Baptist in downtown in Charleston and here with S.H.O.T.S. United. They ran into a bit of a buzzsaw here today in an opening round loss. Yannah plays her best basketball off the ball and making shots from downtown. She will absorb contact on the way to the cup at times and rarely leaves the floor.
Hawes is a physical post down on the block for the red, white and blue. Maddy will look to battle and continue through contact. She understands where she belongs down in the post and plays there the whole game.
Dianna Blake Dianna Blake 6'1" | PF Ashley Ridge | 2024 State SC , Morgan Jones Morgan Jones 5'6" | SG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC and Alyssa Causey Alyssa Causey 5'10" | PF Wando | 2024 State SC all helped Lowcountry Premier 2024 to a opening round victory today despite not having the LCP uniforms.
Blake one of the top post players in the Palmetto State seems to deliver a double-double every night while on the floor. Dianna understands on how to finish and seal off defenders down low while working both sides of the block. Blake attends Ashley Ridge HS in Summerville.
Jones is a SHOT MAKER from the floor with her ability to knockdown jumpers. Morgan can create her own shot along with show good elevation on her release. Morgan plays in the backcourt at Northwood Academy in Summerville.
Causey brings a blue-collar attitude to the floor with her play. Alyssa attends Wando HS in Mount Pleasant. She plays with an aggressive and relentless mindset at times. Alyssa will look to rebound the ball on both ends of court and surely plays her best basketball down in the paint area.
