PGH New Jersey Recruiting Update: 7/27

<p>We have a new recruiting update for you out of the Garden State, and while we were without any significant recruiting news for about a week, that all changed quite quickly over the last few days. Here's a quick look at who's done what in recent memory.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='408702' first='Chloe' last='Escanillas'] - Rutgers Prep (2024) commits to Marist</h2>   <p>Arguably the biggest recruiting news of the week came from Rutgers Prep rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='408702' first='Chloe' last='Escanillas'], who announced on social media on Thursday her verbal commitment to Marist.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/ChloeEscanillas/status/1684539609684770816?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>The 5-10 guard has a lot to offer at the college level and we haven't seen truly seen her peak yet with the Argos, though her progress over the last two seasons speaks volumes. That is especially true from beyond the arc where she's knocked down 57 threes over her last 61 games, including 37 in 29 games last season. She's a volume shooter and an efficient shooter at that.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='325223' first='Madison' last='Miller'] - Morris Catholic (2024) visited, offered by Buffalo</h2>   <p>It's incredible watching the continued progress and success of Miller as she received yet another offer from MAC school Buffalo this week, as well as touring the school and the program.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/Madison101305/status/1684701484057870337?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>It's simple: you can't teach size, but you can teach skill. Not only does Miller have the size at 6-3, she knows how to use her frame to score, to rebound, to block shots, play defense, the whole nine yards and then some. She's an impressive player to watch with tremendous upside and it will be fun to see where she ends up for college.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='792363' first='Zya' last='Washington'] - Montclair Immaculate (2024) offered by Rutgers-Camden, Richard Bland</h2>   <p>Out of a number of recruiting update regulars, we add a new face to the mix in [player_tooltip player_id='792363' first='Zya' last='Washington'], a rising senior from Immaculate Conception in Montclair, who received two offers from Rutgers-Camden and Richard Bland this week.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/zyawash2/status/1684665180968402944?s=20 </div></figure>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/zyawash2/status/1684608575090442240?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>With just an insane amount of talent on IC Montclair, Washington can sometimes be lost in the sauce with her just transferring to the program this season, However, she brings plenty of scoring and defense to the floor in an unfinished package that will undoubtedly get better over time. She's got her entire senior season ahead of her to continue her player development.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='601267' first='Mia' last='Washington'] - Pope John (2026) offered by Manhattan </h2>   <p>Add yet another Division I offer to [player_tooltip player_id='601267' first='Mia' last='Washington']'s plate as the 2026 prospect from Pope John continued her journey in the MAAC with an offer from Manhattan.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/MiaWashington26/status/1684612739304390669?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>With impressive stats as a freshman, averaging nearly 7.0 PPG on a highly competitive team, Washington has already made some heads turn and continued to do so in the AAU circuit this season. She's got an incredible teammate next to her in [player_tooltip player_id='559820' first='Addy' last='Platt'], who we're shocked that we haven't heard more recruiting news from her, but the two will be a feared duo in New Jersey for the next three years.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='525477' first='Precious' last='Wheeler'] - Franklin (2025) offered by Howard</h2>   <p>As has been the case with a number of prospects in our recruiting radar, Wheeler has gotten quite the attention as well, adding yet another offer to her resume in Howard.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/its_gem0408/status/1684249456307208203?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>Teams could have on their hands a potential double-double machine, an offensive juggernaut and a fantastic defensive player really only finding herself this season. She improved in a number of facets of her game, most notably her scoring, but her overall defending has grown outside of just overpowering players with her height. She's a confident player with game-changing ability.</p>
