As was the case last year, the Upward Star Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina was where all the festivities and excitement emanated from over 4th of July weekend. Several of the region’s top teams made South Carolina’s Upstate their homes away from home for the first weekend of July.
The competition was fierce and the games had no shortage of intensity – particularly on championship Sunday. Here are a few who finished strong this past Sunday in the Palmetto State.
Myles impressed all weekend at the Upward Star Center, but one of her signature performances occurred on Sunday morning. Her My Sister’s Keeper 2026 assembling continued its winning ways with a dominant outing against Georgia Elite Sports Invasion 2027. Myles finished the game with 14 points which led all point-getters for the Louisiana-based travel team. Yes, Myles is tall as the rising sophomore standout from Bastrop is listed at 5-foot-11. But she also plays with a high basketball IQ and understands that her bread and butter is her ability to make plays – scoring, rebounding and shot-blocking – while near the rim.
Highlights
The result that Simpson and the rest of her My Sister’s Keeper 2026 team may not have been what it was looking for on Sunday afternoon at Upward Star Center. She was one of the team’s leading scorers (11 points) in a semifinal matchup against North Carolina-based Phoenix Carter 2027 where points were difficult to come by. The final tally was 38-36. Simpson is a strong finisher at the rim and can get creative with the way she does so from time to time. A 3-point shot is part of her offensive arsenal and she understands how to draw contact and get to the free throw line.

Every point mattered for Phoenix Carter 2027 as the team’s 15U semifinal matchup against Louisiana-based My Sister’s Keeper 2026 came down to the wire. Carr’s nine points helped eke a victory for the North Carolina-based team and it earned them a berth to the 15U championship game. Carr managed to display throughout the weekend tournament that she has a knack for turning defense into offense. She understands how to get out in transition and is difficult to contain when she combines her speed with ball handling skills. Five of the nine points she tallied occurred in the second half of play.

McCarn had Charleston Raptors 2026 saying “darn” (and a few other stronger words) at the conclusion of Sunday’s play. McCarn saved some of her best for last this Triumph Region Finals weekend. Her Phoenix Carter 2027 team qualified for the 15U championship game against South Carolina-based Charleston Raptors 2026. McCarn’s 11 points were part of the offensive onslaught the North Carolina-based AAU bunch threw at Charleston Raptors 2026. What was a close contest throughout much of the first half became a rout in the second half in large part because of the heroics of the 5-foot-4 standout that previously attended Central Davidson MS. A Circuit championship sounds like an ideal way to transition into one’s first season at the high school level, one thinks.
