Continue ReadingOver the course of the next couple weeks we will be breaking down the latest top five prospects in their position for the Class of 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027. Our rankings update every three months. Prep Girls Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek will be breaking down the top five players in each position for each class. This week we have our focus on the rising seniors.
The 6-2 rising senior makes a presence felt on both ends of the floor as she brings her length and athleticism to the table. Johnson is an elite rebounder as well as shot blocker on the defensive end, while her offensive game continues to improve as well knocking down shots from the mid-range. She is a typical back-to-the-basket type of player who can finish on either side of the rim at a high rate. Look for Johnson to have a poised senior season for St. Thomas Aquinas this year.
The 6-3 rising senior makes a habit of finishing around the rim on both sides and is an excellent rim protector on the defensive end. Warren plays with her length and frame to her advantage as she is a great rebounder and shot blocker who can impact the game in a variety of ways. Warren has started to gain interest from mid-major D1 programs as she picked up offers from Hofstra, Lafayette, North Florida and South Florida earlier in the summer.
The 6-3 rising senior is coming off a season where she averaged a double-double for St. John Neumann averaging 19.9 points and 16.9 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the field. McCartney currently holds offers from Army and North Florida which we can expect that list to grow.
The 6-1 forward was impressive this summer and can run the floor exceptionally well for her size. Bell brought strong footwork and can score with the best of them on the interior. Her length creates opportunities for rebounding as well as the ability to block shots. Bell also brings a high IQ and can dish out to find open shooters and get them involved in the action.
The 6-2 power forward has unreal footwork and plays exceptionally well on both ends of the floor. King plays a more traditional inside-out game on the offensive end where she can knock down shots at all three levels. In the post, King does a great job at absorbing contact when she can finish around the rim and get to the free throw line at a consistent rate.
