Continue ReadingOver the course of the next couple weeks we will be breaking down the latest top five prospects in their position for the Class of 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027. Our rankings update every three months. Prep Girls Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek will be breaking down the top five players in each position for each class. This week we have our focus on the rising seniors.
Eads, a recent Seton Hall commit has a nice all-around game whether it’s her perimeter shooting on the offensive end or her ability to get steals on the defensive end of the floor. She knocked down some timely shots off the bounce time after time this past weekend at the Adidas 3SSB 17U Finals in Rock Hill. She consistently got her teammates involved in the action as well she dished it out for assists. Eads is expected to play a big role this upcoming season for Lake Highland Prep as they look to get their fifth consecutive state title.
The 5-9 guard has an explosive attack for the rim and can score with the best of them on any given night. Edwards helped lead a young Rutherford squad to a 25-2 record last season averaging a team-best 17.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 6.6 steals and nearly two blocked shots per game for the Lady Rams. Edwards on the defensive end has a lethal threat to her game with her versatility to guard against multiple positions. Edwards currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Virginia and several others.
The 5-7 guard can do it all on the floor whether it’s perimeter shooting or her ability to get to the rim on the attack. She also gets to the free throw line at a high rate where she was an 81 percent free throw shooter last season for Sickles. Hockley plays with a high IQ and also has the ability to play multiple positions on the floor while her position is primarily a point guard role. Last season, Hockley averaged 18.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game as a junior. Hockley is committed to Saginaw Valley State University.
Corporan is a multi-talented point guard who can show some flashy moves when the basketball is in her hands. She can score off the bounce or off the catch at a high rate. Her size occasionally gets under-looked but her speed and ability to change direction creates chaos for most defenses. Corporan led the team averaging nearly four steals per game as a junior last season for St. Thomas Aquinas.
Elliott plays with toughness as well as quickness who can get after it on both ends of the floor. Her ability to be a lock-down defender has improved in each of her first three seasons at the high school level. On the offensive end, Elliott plays with an aggressive edge and has a quick first step towards the basket. She also displays great court vision, plays with a high IQ and has a nice pace to her game where she takeover a game if needed. Her rebounding ability is also underrated for her size as she has a great vertical where she can get on the boards with the best of them. Look for a great senior season for Elliott and her squad as they are coming off a 12-11 season a year ago.
