With Kansas High Schools taking a week off from sports it will be a good time for athletes to do to teenage things, pop off some fireworks, and rest up for the July and August push. It's also a time for me to catch up on film-watching.

After some statistical analysis on Prep Girls Hoops coverage of Kansas-ranked players, I have put together a report on five players who have perhaps not gotten as much love as they deserve.

So here are five ranked players to watch as summer play continues and they head into their senior seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='669291' first='Maja' last='Komaszynska'], PF, 6'1”, Life Prep (No. 17)

Komaszynska is a physical player who knows how to create space and get into a scoring position. She rebounds and plays solid defense. She has a big reach and knows how to stay out of foul trouble. The Life Prep prospect can shoot from the outside and dominate from the inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='300794' first='Taylor' last='Weishaar'], C, 6'2”, 170, Riverside (No. 18)

Weishaar is a gritty center that is not afraid to do the dirty work down low in the paint. She can beat opponents one-on-one or pick apart a zone defense. She passes just as well as she scores. Her long arms make her a natural shot blocker, but she works hard to keep her feet on the floor and not get faked out.

[player_tooltip player_id='396407' first='Ashley' last='VanElders'], SG/PF 6'3”, Shawnee Mission South (No. 22)

VanElders is a smooth player who can dominate games. She is a three-level scorer and a big-time shot blocker. She played this summer at the Pittsburg State Team Camp this first week in June and helped guide her team to a Pool Title. She runs the floor well and can distribute the ball as well as score with it.

[player_tooltip player_id='265112' first='Emily' last='Fischer'], PF, 5'11”, Olathe Northwest (No. 23)

Fischer can get overlooked playing with a stud program at Olathe Northwest, but she can flat-out play. She has a really smooth jump shot and scores from 3-point range. She plays with multiple players who can score, so she knows how to distribute and share the rock. The Ravens' prospect might be leaned on to score more during her senior campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='196766' first='Elle' last='Hatcher'], PF, 51'0”, Liberal (No. 31)

Hatcher is a natural shooter. She can score from deep and from mid-range. She gets out quickly in transition and makes herself a scoring threat on the fastbreak. She has averaged more than three rebounds per game over the course of her last two high school seasons. The Liberal prospect has seen varsity time since her freshman year. You combine that with her summer play with Gameball Fusion and you have a player with a ton of experience.
