There were plenty of players from Michigan that made statements about their game and showed coaches some of what they may offer at the next level. Let’s look at some of these statement makers from the mitten state at Run 4 The Roses,
* This isn’t an ‘all-inclusive list’.
I’ve always been very high this Michigan Tech commit’s game. Standfest showed that the Huskies landed a terrific prospect. She averaged about 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals per game at the event. That’s the Standfest way, contributing at a high level in so many different ways.
Davis has been making a lot of noise throughout grassroots season and that did nothing but continue in Kentucky. Davis has turned herself into an elite 2 way player. She used her length well defensively, blocking shots and engulfing opponents on the perimeter. Davis also flaunted a pretty jumper.
Winowiecki is currently on a tear, taking her game to a new level. She’s become a lights out shooter and scorer. Winowiecki had a 19 points 2nd half and a 24 total point game at Run 4 The Roses. She also grabbed 9 boards in that game. That game is just a sample of the type of games she’s had throughout the summer/

I get it, I think most of us have known that Roehm was a great shooter since she walked on a high school court. But my goodness, what she was doing at Run 4 The Roses was borderline epic. Roehm just has zero fear to go all along with all the execution. She’s proven to be a big shot taker and a big shot maker.

The reviews of Valencia and her performance in Kentucky are coming back strong! Her weekend was probably highlighted by an 18 point outburst, but it was what went along with the points that impressed the most. Valencia was an excellent perimeter defender all weekend which was probably her top claim to fame. Offensively, she displayed patience, IQ and efficiency.
I don’t have any numbers from Run 4 The Roses for Ball-Duley and I don’t need them. She easily passed the eye test with her game over the weekend. Ball-Duley’s jumper looked as strong as ever. She was getting it off over top of defenders and it was tough to challenge with her smooth and quick release. She was a nuisance on D as well, anticipating passes and tipping a ton of balls.
Shelby was a standout for sure at Run 4 The Roses. There’s just not much of anything to question about her game. She’s versatile in the backcourt, handling the ball well and distributing when needed as well as getting buckets and creating if her team needed it. Shelby shot the ball very well in Kentucky.
